I was just kidding, mainly because I keep buying more and more cigars and I'm reaching terminal velocity on the slope. I can't wait to try 'em. I'm also looking to buy a box of illusione, undercrown and hemingways.

Try the Diesel Shorty!

I enjoy the DUHC far more than the Shorty. I find the Shorty to be a natural tobacco barnyard flavor and the UHC to be a much more mocha/cocoa profile.

That's pretty much why I try not to use Cbid. I bid on stuff and hope it gets outbid.

You should always check your go to sites before placing bids at the debbil site.

I can't tell you how many times I see folks over bidding on items that they could get any ol' time at CI.

Lately it has been terrible on the cbid. I don't know if its a rash of kids with new credit cards or booze is half price but I have watched more auctions close over retail (Not even current market price) Than ever. Why would people use a auction type site to pay more than just ordering it? Maybe just the thrill of out bidding someone.....dunno.

Frikkin devil site. "Oh, I'll just see what they have today." Now my bid count is 85 cigars. Crap. Hope I get outbid. But not on all of them. Actually I want all of them. Crap. I need more money.

This frustrates me to no end. I always check a couple of my go-to sites to see what I can get something for on a regular basis and if I cant get it on cbid for significantly less, I dont even bother. It seems that people see that its an auction and automatically think they are getting the best deal (that or they see what cbid lists as the msrp for an item and still think they're getting a good deal). Oh well.

sevans105 02-15-2012 09:21 AM

Re: Cigar Bid

The other thing I think people forget to factor in is the cbid shipping costs. if you are only buying singles or a fiver now and then, cbid can be a very expensive way to go.

YEP! I have screamed the following at my computer a few times; "good god man! WTF? Just right click the mouse and choose "search with Google" or copy and paste in to a couple of the better online sites.":bhd

Wouldn't let it get to you guys. If it weren't for the overbids, CI'd have no reason to keep it running and allow some of us to steal a cigar every now and then.

Geez I need to get off of that site. I've gotten a humidor, some Xikar Lighters and cutters, and cigars like everyone else.

I will say that I bid and won the Mayan X Cloissone(sp?) cutter and they shipped me the wrong one. Called and the lady let me keep the one they sent instead of waiting about 3 weeks to get the correct cutter. (Im deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba) She looked up the last three auctions and gave me the lowest price and refunded me the difference.

Right now Im waiting on some 5 FFOX Lost City Robustos, 5 Don Carlos Belicosos, 5 Sun Grown Chateau Fuente, and 3 Take 5 AVO Robusto samplers

I need to block the site for a while lol

Not yet, still pretty sharp. Course I don't smoke on a daily basis. I hear Xikar will sharpen them for free for life. Course it maybe not a hard task to do your self with a awl like file.

Re: Cigar Bid

Tengel78,
Word of caution on that herfador. Be gentle with the latches. I had a 5-count in the blaze orange, but it didn't last very long at all. I love my old, plain black ones, and I liked the concept here - the color and rubberization. However, the way the latches are attached on/through the rubber coating doesn't allow for them to last. First latch came off after about 5 uses. I continued to use it with one for just a few more uses until that one came off, too.
The latches break right off with the sealant. Good luck - be gentle.

I've started what may be the gentle portion of a slide... in my first week on CigarBid I bought 4 x 5 packs... Perdomo 826 Slow-Aged Churchill Maduro (the reason I signed up to begin with), Tiera Del Sol Toro Maduro, Tiera Del Sol Churchill Natural, and Bahia Blu B500 Robusto. I would have added a Perdomo 826 Slow-Aged Natural and one of the cheap-o Perdomo branded 20-30 count humis had they been available within my weekly shipping window...

This happened to mine too, but mine is straight up black, I just put them back on when they come off they seem to snap right into place, so idk :sh

Re: Cigar Bid

I got this week's C-bid order today too. I have a couple questions for those more knowledgeable than myself too. First, the JJ's have a different band than the ones I've smoked previously. I am assuming that this is an older band because of the seriously yellowed cello, but would appreciate confirmation on this theory.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a2...D550/ry%3D400/
And second, there is a crack on the on the cap of the Padron. Would you guys contact c-bid customer service over this issue? I am thinking it would still be pretty smokable but the wrapper seems like it would unravel a bit.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a2...D550/ry%3D400/

cmitch 03-12-2012 12:25 PM

Re: Cigar Bid

The cap shouldn't be cracked like that. It could be shipping damage but I've always gotten a well packed package from them. No much so from cigarauctioneer, where they'll throw a box of cigars in a box 10 times it's size and not pack it with anything.
