Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Santana is way better than his record shows so far. The Mets have lost every game that man has pitched. He is pitching lights out this season.
|
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
boy, sure is, fun couple of games, glad to leave that place though. Never felt as if it was enough runs...ever!

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Astros had our number in spring training...so the trend continues as they beat us 4-3 last night. :bh
|
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Neise is getting lit up by the Astros, 5-0, in the 2nd inning!!! :bh :bh :bh
|
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Looked like they had a chance to pull this one out. Good news is that the entire division is losing a ton of games. We aren't losing any ground in the standings!
|
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Astros whoop us again today, 8-1. :bh :bh :bh

Bullpen "holds onto" one and the Mets beat the D-Backs 4-3. Finally ending the 4 game losing streak and giving Santana the win. The Mets score 4 runs for Santana...the same amount they gave him in his pevious 5 starts.
|
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Mets beat the D-Backs today 3-1 and Dickey gets another win. Still over .500 and it's early May. Surprising the hell outta me. Especially since the bullpen has 5 blown saves and is 26th in ERA in the majors. :D
|
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
I, too, have been pleasantly surprised so far this season. I was fully expected them to not be able to fight their way out of a wet paper bag all season.
As a side note: I noticed this morning that the Mets are currently sitting in third place and they have the same record as the Yankees (who, by the way, are FOURTH place in their division!). |
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Mets down 2-0 against Halladay and Wright hits a big 2 run double to tie it. Then rookie Jordany Valdespin (0-6 is his short career) hits a 3 run HR against Papelbon and the Mets win 5-2. :wo :wo

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
I just want to post to make sure you didn't think I was scared off, Mac... :D Thank goodness it's a Marathon!

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Awesome comeback win for the Mets! Wright comes through once again and pinch-hit HRs are fun to watch!

Unfortunately for you, the Yanks still have 130+ games to play. Also unfortunate, so do the Mets! :D |
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
I'm not seeing much room for the typical Yankee bragging so far this season.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Typical Yankee fan trying to justify a piss poor start to the season. Mets fans, however, don't need any justification for the same. We're just happy to not be sitting at the bottom of our division! :D

The Mets have been fun to watch. They seem to be playing like they actually want to win. 10th come-from-behind win so far this season.

Just for Keith...Tuesday's victory was the Mets' 401th all time against the Phillies, their most against any Major League team. :D

Mets have the tables turned on them last night and get beat by the Marlins i the bottom of the 9th...6-5.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Mets bounce back and beat the Marlins 9-3 this afternoon. Dickey looked good on the mound and Wright went 4-6 with a HR to increase his BA to .402. :tu :tu

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
The bullpen is up to its old tricks again as the Mets lose to the Marlins, 8-4.

That was a tough game last night.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Mets only have three hits and somehow managed to beat the Brewers, 3-1. :D
|
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
Mets get skull drug by the Brewers 8-0. Geel continues to loko like stir fried dog crap. Collins pulls a "I'm a punk" by removing Wright after the Mets hit Braun. I like that Wright fought the move...but Collins is still a punk.

Mets Expected to Land 2013 All-Star Game!!
Commissioner Bud Selig will join Mets owner Fred Wilpon and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg at New York's City Hall to make a major announcement Wednesday, expected to be that the Mets and Citi Field will host the 2013 MLB All-Star Game. Numerous news organizations have reported the announcement is to unveil Citi Field as the site of the 2013 event, but MLB and Mets officials have declined comment beyond asking that media representatives wait for Wednesday's 11:30 a.m. ET news conference. If that indeed is the case, 2013 will mark the first time the Mets have hosted the Midsummer Classic since 1964, ending the longest drought for current franchises. The second-longest is set to end this summer with Kansas City hosting the All-Star Game for the first time since '73. "It will be a tremendous stage for a Midsummer Classic," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "It will be held in one of the nicest ballparks in the country." Between the Mets and Yankees, the city of New York has hosted eight All-Star games in total, more than any other Major League city. Chicago is second on that list with seven. The Yankees hosted the 2008 All-Star Game in the last season played at old Yankee Stadium. "It's great for the city," Mets third baseman David Wright said. "I got a chance to participate in the one that closed out Yankee Stadium. What a tremendous stage for an All-Star Game. I think it's deservedly so, and we'll get a chance for the world to see the stadium, see the new place. We'll kind of show it off a little bit." |
Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter
One more reason for Wright to remain in a Mets uniform.

Phillies lose so we area 1/2 game out of the cellar...at least for one more day.
