Are you suggesting they sign Jonah Hill?

He's skinny now! :tu

Would that also mean Philip Seymour Hoffman as manager? Hell, he likely couldn't do much worse than The Sage, Jerry Manuel. ;)

I should have mentioned, the character played by Jonah hill is supposed to be Paul DePodesta.
He didn't care for the way he was being portrayed and asked them not to use his name.
DePodesta is currently vice president of player development and scouting for the New York Mets.
I don't think he needs to see the movie! :D

I actually think they want to hire Jonah Hill for second base. Got to be better than Murphy, no?

You mean to PLAY second base, or to BE second base? :D

My mother in law grew up down the street from Shea. So, last night, she says, "Hey, I saw that John Franco made it to the Hall of Fame."

So, I said, "Well, the Mets Hall of Fame." She said, "Oh" in the familiar tone that meant, "that's not very difficult."

Mets signed infielder Matt Tuiasosopo to a Minor League contract. Once Seattles #1 prospect...another can't miss for the Mets. :bh :bh

Didn't they move the fences in a bit? That ought to cut down on triples . . . and pulled hammies. :r

This has got to be the most uneventful off-season in Mets history. Nothing to talk about.

I wonder if the Spanks will make a play for Wright? I'd hate to see him go, but imagine this: move A-Rod to DH and give Wright a chance at a ring while he's still a decent player.

Hmmmm. I'm not sure about Wright, as he's not seemed to live up to his early potential. I'm not sure he's a meaningful upgrade at third, since A-Rod's far from a stiff there, and I am sure he's not necessarily an upgrade at the plate, as he's "slipped" nearly as badly as has A-Rod . . . and from a lesser height. And I'm pretty sure A-Rod's ego would not let him agree peacefully to being "demoted" to DH, and Girardi doesn't need problems like that in the clubhouse. Still, it's an interesting thought.
