It's Superbowl weekend which means a lot of folks will out and about. The NY Rangers take on the Detroit Red Wings tonight and tomorrow evening which is always a good match up. It was a great weekend overall: spend Saturday at the cigar shop with the fellas; congrats to the NY Rangers for beating the Detroit Red Wings back to back; and a huge congrats to the KC Chiefs on winning the Superbowl last night. Good morning all, the coffee is on as always and it's back to work Monday already. We had another great weekend: Friday evening, we had a number of our friends over for a dinner party; Saturday, went to the cigar shop for a while and then had our sponsored Cadet over for dinner; yesterday, we went to the Newburgh Brewery to support another great Cause and then went out to dinner to close out the weekend. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Valentine's Day Friday. We had a great time last night at Schlesinger's, my buddy Sean Keever from Big Guns BBQ hung out with us as well. Congrats to the two winners of the NASCAR Twin Duels, now we know the entire line up for Sunday's Daytona 500. Congrats to the NY Rangers on another win, they'll be back at it tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets starting at 1900 (7 pm). Also this evening, the NASCAR truck series live from Daytona will start at 1930 (7:30 pm) which should be fast and furious. Beth and I are headed out for a nice Valentine's dinner tonight at one of our favorite restaurants, the North Plank Road Tavern. They are hosting a special Valentine's Day Prix Fixe:

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's back to work Tuesday (only for 2 days as we are flying to Florida tomorrow afternoon). We had a great weekend: relaxed around the house quite a bit; watched the Daytona 500 start on Sunday and finish yesterday as a result of a rain delay. Congrats to Denny Hamlin for getting the checkered flag and prayers go out to Ryan Newman as he was in a bad crash and was transported to a nearby hospital:

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday after an incredible 5 days in sunny, southern Florida. We smoke a boat load of cigars; visited the Perdomo headquarters as well as the Alec Bradley headquarters where we were treated as family at both locations; had a great day at "The Great Smoke" where got to see a lot of dear friends to include Rudy Giuliani, aka: the Mayor; lastly, got to spend 5 days with 4 of my best friends sharing this incredible experience. We had another great weekend overall: Relaxed at home Friday evening with Beth; Saturday - went to the cigar shop to smoke a couple while Beth was at home cooking a Turkey and all the fixin's; yesterday, we did some shopping and then came home to watch the NASCAR race. We had a great weekend as always: Friday Beth and I stopped by the Newburgh Brewery and spent some time with Paul and the crew enjoying some tasty beers; went to a family birthday party that evening; Saturday was cigar shop day relaxing with the fellas and then Beth and I were invited over to her sister's house for homemade raviolis with meatballs; yesterday was Sunday Funday hitting a couple of breweries and then hanging out at the firepit smoking cigars to cap off the weekend. I see that a number of sporting events have cancelled/postponed their games, at least NASCAR is racing this weekend (no fans in attendance). Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Sunday. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, We're on 12 hour shifts here at West Point with the Emergency Operation Center in full operation 7 days a week. West Point still has a large number of Cadets, Cadre/Instructors and family members overseas waiting to come back to the U.S. to be tested and quarantined. As everyone knows, all large events have been cancelled/postponed to include Cigarfest up in the Poconos. I'm sure we'll get through all of this but it will take time. Keep an eye on your neighbors and try and shop local to help the small business community. I'll be off to work shortly and check back in tomorrow morning....... :)

States are locking down a lot of businesses to prevent the spread of COVID-19, hopefully this works and we get back to normalcy in the near future. There's about 18 of us on shift at a time, we are practicing social distancing and sanitize our work space on a regularly scheduled time. Good morning all all, the coffee is on and it's Thursday. All is good here in the Baranyai household, only 3 more days of quarantine as a result of contact with a positive COVID-19 victim. One of our supervisors in the EOC came in 11 days ago and was not feeling well, got tested and came back positive. He and his family are doing good but the EOC is working virtual and utilizing a program called WebEOC. All meetings are held on MS Teams and we've been teleworking via VPN. The President extended the stay at home through the end of April to help stop the spread of this virus. I have to put a little smile on things, so here's a little funny for you to laugh at. Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down! Actually I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking tea and all of us agreed that things are getting bad. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything and certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron calmed me down as she said everything will be fine no situation is too pressing.

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's Friday (for what it's worth). Yesterday, Beth came into our computer room that I have converted into my current office and asked me what day it was. This is getting real to a lot of folks that we're in this for the long haul and until they find a cure, this is the new norm. I don't mind working 7 days a week to help protect the West Point community, I just hope that one day we look back at this and tell ourselves it was all worth it.
