Picked up a new pipe by Todd Harris from another board. A rusticated bent brandy. Just starting to get it broken in with some Mac Barens Scottish Mix early this week on Wednesday...

@ Chip, Pipe Bits, smokingpipes.c0m has them. Many people opt for surgical tubing too as it can be a bit thinner.

MacBaren Modern Virginia- Loose Cut.

I suppose I am just not a fan of pure virginias. The tin aroma is great like apricots or raisins. Its the pure tobacco smell and it is fantastic.

Smoking it though.............eh, just ok. It seems a bit acrid and smells like a first lit cigarette. Maybe i'll put it in the humi and come back one day.

109 Mark? You won't have to carry a lighter if that keeps up, just grab a chunk of brimstone off the ground.

Finished the last of the McC Oriental 14 this morning. Amazing stuff.

On that note, are there any bulks that come close to #14?

Hey Seth would you mind describing the flavors of this blend? Sounds interesting.

Re: Whats in your bowl?

Sorry Pete, I missed your question for some reason. #14 is a solid medium strength blend, with (obviously) very prominant Oriental sourness. It's got body though which a lot of Oriental blends don't quite hit. Super easy smoke on the mouth which is welcomed as I've been getting a rough tongue from VA's lately.

My description isn't great and I apologize. I think the best way to put it is it's not trying to do too may things at once, it's solid McC quality that meets my strength/body requirements.

Give McC Bombay Extra as well as Samovar a shot. Both Excellent!

Enjoyed a bowl of The Virginia Cream driving home form work earlier. I really enjoy this as a change of pace considering I'm not much into aromatics.
