Yeah, and for every move they try to make, some Yankee-hating SOB will start moanin' and cryin' about how they're "buying the championship" or some such crap, despite all evidence to the contrary. Well, they can all kiss my hairy white @$$. :r |

Re: New York Yankees 2012
Why do people continue to ignore the facts, or at least select which facts to recall? For example, the Yankees were not the first to sign one of those mega-contracts that plague many teams these days, and began all these complaints from small-market teams whining they cannot compete. That distinction goes to the Rangers, who signed A-Rod away from the Mariners. Also, for every team that "buys" a player, there's some team that "sells" that player too. And this goes back at least to 1921, when the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to New York, which started 86 years of frustration in Fenway. So why should the buyer get all the blame, while the seller skates?
Hey, how many big deals did the Mets make in recent years (Santana, Beltran, etc.) which didn't end in success, and how many potential stars (like Rios) did they refrain from ponying-up the cake needed to retain them, and again with no aid to their success? It is easier to throw rocks accurately at others once you take the log out of your own eyes. |

Major difference is that the Yankees ALWAYS spend the money...most other MLB teams can only afford to spend the big money every few years. |
Re: New York Yankees 2012
I'll bet the Yankees will just try to buy a championship this off season.

Re: New York Yankees 2012
The Yankees off season is going very slow so far. They picked up the options on Cano & Granderson for 2013. BorAss would not discuss an extension on Cano so he will be testing the market after the season. They should look into trading Granderson for some pitching prospects. Mo is coming back as long as they can get a contract settled. Swisher is gone and will probably not return. They want Martin back but he is being looked at by multiple teams. Pettitte has not decided what he is doing yet. They are looking to bring Ichiro back and looking at Torii Hunter if he takes a 1 year offer. Still a lot of holes to fill especially in the starting rotation. Jeter should be readh for spring training.

Better teach Nunez to play left. And The Fan guys said the same thing yesterday. |

Cashman broke his leg and ankle, needed surgery.
After skydiving. |
Re: New York Yankees 2012
Teixiera out 8-10 weeks with a strained wrist. Are the Yankees even going to have enough able bodies to field a team? :r :r :r

Re: New York Yankees 2012
Juan Rivera played 1st base and went 3 for 4 and drove in all 3
runs yesterday. Also rumors of Derek Lee and or Cudyer[spell]. But honestly, i am not hopeful for the opening months, or for 2 yrs out with the no spending tax scared owners cheapskate tactics. Dad George wouldve said " what luxury tax" sign whoever we need to have the best chance. I`m done. |
Re: New York Yankees 2012
I wonder where we would be if only 3 of the guys on the DL
returned. Where are all the pinstripers here. I`m as proud as ever to wear my hat. |
Re: New York Yankees 2012
The team is playing great considering all of the injuries, not just of our starters, but of 2nd stringers too.
|
Re: New York Yankees 2012
We would be in better shape if all our 2nd strings were there.
Now we have 3rd strings playing. Gotta be a record for guys on the DL or day to day. A rod Tex Joba Grandy DJ Yuke Cervelli Noony Pineada |

No doubt about that
1st place sure is nice, even though they are sharing it with the Red Cox :D |

Re: New York Yankees 2012
Just an observation, 2012 is over.:r
But yes, what a crazy game and series, as usual between the love the two teams share. |
Re: New York Yankees 2012
This ain`t over yet.
Anybody pitching at that level does not throw behind a batter by accident. I try to stick to what goes on on the field. 446 ft. longest shot by the team all yr. The Sox manager was a pitching coach, most of his career coaching, and he dosnt know if his pitcher was aiming at the batter. Just made the win like smokin a 10 yr old Cohiba Siglo, sahweeet. |
