Re: AJ Fernandez blends
So is the Nica Libre a confirmed AJ blend? I've seen it pop on and off the list here and I've heard mixed reports from other places...

Re: AJ Fernandez blends
Gave a buddy a Nica libre and he really enjoyed it. I wish they didn't try to compare these to Padrons.

Re: AJ Fernandez blends
I was all set to order then the shipping of 5.95 added in was the deal breaker. Still a great deal but I have a decent Cbid shipment on the way so this loses. :(

Re: AJ Fernandez blends
Couldn't wait and bid on some Diesel 5 packs from Cbid. Won both. I hope I like them. If I don't I won't have any problem getting rid of them. ;)
On a seperate note I tried the La Cuna Bin 85 the Toro Size and was not bad but not fantastic either. I was doing a review for a web site so I'll post that here somewhere too. It was ROTT so maybe some time would help. |

Re: AJ Fernandez blends
You know with all the bidders her if we were to collectively bid (or not bid) on the AJ F stuff we may be able to artificially keep the price down. Would take some team work/trust but it could be done.

Re: AJ Fernandez blends
By no means is this a formal analysis, but just in the last few months I've seen the price of Fernandez blends start to creep up on cbid. The guy makes great sticks, IMO, and the buzz is increasing the bidding competition.
On the one hand it's a nice to see the recognition for a talented blender, OTOH: stay the hell away from *my* sticks... :r Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: AJ Fernandez blends
Is AJ a CI exclusive more or less? I was in my B n M 2day and he said they couldn't get most (or all) of his stuff because he said "there a CI exclusive". I'd like to add he really likes AJ stuff and has even given me a Man O War or two. (Which I REALLY appreciated). :)

The secret to Indian Tabac Nonpareil rests in its specially selected tobacco, which is fermented using a secret family recipe employed by A.J. Fernandez, the owner of the factory producing not only Nonpareil but also the coveted Indian Tabac 10th Anniversary and Split Decision. This unique tobacco, combined with Rocky Patel's blending expertise, has made Indian Tabac Nonpareil a cigar that is truly "matched by no other". Filled with Nicaraguan long fillers, Nonpareil is wrapped with either a creamy Connecticut wrapper or a spicy Habano seed wrapper, leading to a complex, medium bodied blend. Sol Cubano Artisan AJ (Fernandez) immediately started to explain that this was his best roller and the only one in the factory qualified to make the sought after Sol Cubano Artisan, a barber pole and pinstripe cigar unlike any other in the cigar industry. Watching her work was captivating, and no one moved for at least 30 minutes as we looked on in utter amazement. |
