Opened a small 7oz bottle of Rogues XS Russian Imperial Stout .

This is a very different R.I.S. compared to others I've had. The two main flavors I get are chocolate and black cherries. There isn't much else going on with this beer. It's a nice change of pace beer.

I had one a few nights ago, it was really good but almost so over the top hoppy that it killed my palette for the rest of the evening. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed every sip but I will make it my only/last beer of the day next time.

I have had three of those Sierra Nevada's and they are great beers. The summerfest this year is really good imo, and the Hefe is my favorite American hefe. You can't go wrong with the Pale Ale either. Enjoy them:tu

The dunkel is FANTASTIC. I had a bottle of the dunkel in my hands nearly everyday in my four months in Germany! It was by far my favorite beer I tried while there! If you can find the dunkel in stores, give it a shot. :dr

Skywalker ought to come 'round here in a bit and fill you in--Darrell lives in Chico and gets all the fresh stuff as soon as it's brewed, lucky dog :dr All four of those are tasty, the SN Pale Ale and Torpedo (if you can find it in your area) are my go-to IPAs.

A member from another board sent my buddy home with a couple of tasty brews. First, Ginger Twin from Half Acre in Chicago a Indian-Style red ale ....very good with a tasty hop drinking quality. Second, Baume a rye stout that is quite nice with a great mouth feel. For the man and to those who know him, thanks LittleG.

Re: What beers are you enjoying?

I'll have to try the Ginger Twin. Half Acre's pale ale was good, and I love Green Flash's Hop Head Red, so it's be nice to try Half Acre's. I have a feeling that Half Acre will be my favorite Chicago brewery. Not a huge fan of Goose Island.

Jealous. I haven't had GUmballhead in a while. I wish they would give our distributor some! Just recently had Devil Dancer, awesome.

I am drinking my own Foreign Extra Stout which is amazing. Too bad I can't email beer.

Re: What beers are you enjoying?

So half acre Ginger twin was pretty darn good. Judging from the reviews, mine must have been fresh because the hops were definitely present.

Having a daisy cutter pale ale now. I probably should have had it first because the hops are being overpowered by the Ginger twin.

I bought some of the new Grain Belt Nordeast. Its OK, but I think I like regular Grain Belt better. IMO not hoppy enough to balance the malts.

As a matter of fact I had it tonight at my neighbors. It didn't suck and was actually tasty and refreshing and washed down the meal perfectly. I really wasn't expecting to like it but it wasn't bad at all.

Also today I had:

Sweetwater Motorboat ("A faceful of pleasure")
Stone 14th Anni IPA
Terrapin Double Feature
