LR5?!?! Is it a free upgrade? I just checked for updates the other day and there wasn't any.

Damn you Justin! I could have stayed in the dark and been perfectly happy.......instead, I'm downloading LR5, this is totally on you!! :)

Not gonna happen. Only way for me to achieve that is with a big soft box to put the cat in with a hole for the lens. Don't have one and surely not going to buy or build one :r

Yah I was kidding, although you could cut out the sides and apply tissue paper. At least that is how the youtube instructions do it :r

Looks like a sharp-shinned hawk...

OK question answering time.....
A.) Justin already built a soft box, not sure how he liked it considering he says he has none.
B.) I think of Flickr as more of a 'portfolio' website, and the Bucket is more of a
dump site. The only things that I put on Flickr are things I want to be associated
with in terms of what I do artistically. The bucket is more for putting test images,
images to link to for the Asylum....cat pics, stuff like that.

Re: Photography Thread

I will say one thing abotu soft boxes, I never realized how expensive a decent one light soft setup was til I quit working
for TV stations. Every commercial production department I ever worked for, we had one or two. The other day I went
looking for a decent one for my side venture and I almost pooped a wombat. Those things, the kind you mount to
a tungsten lamp fixture on a lightstand, OUCH! I didn't want one so bad anymore. I looked at one just now, 16x22",
no lamp or stand, $175. Well, after poking around, I CAN get a flourescent one from a cheaper maker for $50. But still....

I'll give that P510 credit, it has a LOOOoong zoom lens on it. If I am not mistaken its 1000mm equivalent.
I can name all those species, provided that is a river otter and not a beaver.

Correct it is a river otter which was by far the hardest pic to take. Little bastard kept going under and popping up out of range!

The gators were actually kind of close so I didn't have to zoom it out too far but you're right, it does have a hell of a zoom. The zoom was the only way to get a picture of this little guy:

And us shutterbugs know that for a fact! I've b!tched about it before about how people will step right in front of you when you're framing a shot. I'm not talking accidentally, but they see you getting ready to shoot but they walk right into it and stand there. :sl :sl

Shelby GT500 from 1969 (or 1970?)

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps58807d9a.jpg

The other Shelby is a 1968 GT500KR. KR meant King of the Road, and boasted the 428 Cobra Jet engine. Rated at 335 horsepower, tests showed that Ford wayyyy under reported the output of that one. Actually that engine probably put out over 400 HP
