Well, the Hudson Valley fared pretty well with only getting a couple of inches of fluffy snow that was actually melted by the end of the day. I see that our friends in Mass and New Hampshire got hit pretty hard again. Hopefully this is the end of the big storms and the Spring season starts soon. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's Friday! We had a good time last night at Schlesinger's, a lot of the usual suspects were out as well as a couple of ole faces we haven't seen in a while. Today starts St. Paddy's Day weekend, enjoy but do remember that there will be a lot more police out and about looking for drunk drivers. Sports wise, the MLB Spring Training has a week left; college basketball playoffs is in full swing; and the NASCAR drivers are in Fontana, CA this weekend. Enjoy everyone........ :D

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday. Beth and I had an enjoyable weekend, saw our niece/god-daughter's play (Meet Me in St. Louis) on Friday evening; visited a couple of establishment's Saturday for St. Paddy's Day; and yesterday we went to the Newburgh Brewery to support a local fund raiser and then had dinner at the Wherehouse. Congrats to Martin Truex Jr. for taking the checkered flag in yesterday's NASCAR race and to all the college basketball teams that advance to the "Sweet 16". Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's calm before the storm (literally). According to NOAA, we are in for another Nor'easter starting tonight and all day tomorrow. They are predicting anywhere from 9 to 17 inches in total:

Wednesday - Snow, mainly after 7am. The snow could be heavy at times. Some thunder is also possible. High near 32. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind 16 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on for a while and it's "Hump Day". Well, after a lengthy "Adverse Weather Conference Call", West Point is Code "Red" all day today:

If West point is code Red all day: Only employees in emergency positions should report to work. Employees in non-emergency positions should not report to work until their next regularly scheduled workday.

Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on since 0420 and it's back to work Monday. Beth and I had a good weekend: we relaxed Friday evening at home; Saturday, I went to the cigar shop in the morning and then we went to a dear friend's 60th birthday party which was outstanding; yesterday after doing some shopping, we came home and relaxed again. The NASCAR races were postponed until today as a result of a snow storm that blew through Virginia. Enjoy your week all, the MLB regular season starts this Thursday....... :)

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's Friday! Beth and I had a great day at the Mets "Opening Day" yesterday, we took the bus with 22 others from the Newburgh Brewery. We had plenty of beer and food and the ride back and forth was great. Congrats to both New York teams for winning, this maybe a good sign this year. Yesterday's Yankees home opener got snowed out (yes, I said snowed out) and today it may possibly be rained out. Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0420 and it's back to work Monday. We had a good day yesterday checking out a couple of new breweries to us. The first being Defiant Brewing Company in Pearl River, NY and the other being Industrial Arts Brewing Company in Garnerville, NY. Both had tasty beers and very different in their own style. We finished up the day having dinner at a new Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood, El Jalapeno Charro in New Windsor, NY. Great day overall, too bad the Yankees lost 8 - 7 in the 12th inning, at least the Mets won for Beth. My least favorite driver Kyle Busch too the checkered flag in yesterday NASCAR race, not a fan of "Rowdy" Busch. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday. Beth and I had a good weekend overall; Saturday, we got a lot of Spring cleaning done and then we barbecued; yesterday started off with going to Mavis Tire which was supposed to only be 4 new tires for the Jeep. Ended up with new tires, new rear brakes which included rotors and rear shocks as well. Glad I got it done, got a lot of miles ahead of us in the next few months. Sports wise, the Yankees have been rained out the past 2 days, the Mets won yesterday and the NASCAR race was halted because of rain as well and will continue today at 1300 (1 pm) on FOX. These two teams will be back at it this evening at 1835 (6:35 pm). It was not so good for the Mets as they blew a 6 - 1 lead and lost to the National 8 - 6. We had a great day yesterday, smoked a few of my favorites, barbecued venison burgers, sipped on some tasty Newburgh Brewery beers and even knocked out a honey-do list item. The last game of this 4 game series will start at 1410 (2:10 pm) today and hopefully we take another one from the Astros. We're hitting the road around 1000 (10 am) and should arrive Lake Harmony / Split Rock Resort around 1430 (2:30 pm) with a pit stop at Tobyhanna Army Depot for the last of our necessities. The weather was perfect all weekend and we didn't get any rain until our drive home and that was a mild shower. I got to see a lot of friends that I haven't seen in a long time and all.
