Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
Went to a couple of local brew fests the last two weekends and have been trying to expand my beer palette. Found some interesting new stuff plus realized I like sours more than I would have imagined.
There's a Craft Beer Cellar local to us, and I love that they let me construct my own sample pack. Look forward to trying these out over the next couple weeks. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5580/...7e53fe1b_z.jpg |
Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
for my token sampling of an "on-the-shelves-too-early-ubiquitous-pumpkin-beer" i tried Southern Tier Warlock. It was fine.

I like pumpkin beers, just depends though I'd prefer more spices and less pumpkin that's for sure.

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
Been drinking some Anchor California Lager of late. Pretty tasty for a lager...plenty of hops & a nice finish.
Of course, looking forward to the Octoberfest season which starts up in August. Picked up a 6 pack of Wienstephaner the other day. Free State has a fair Octoberfest & they are Kansas brewer so will get it pretty fresh here. Shiner does a damn fine job with theirs, but haven't seen it in Kansas yet. Too bad Magic Hat didn't offer one in my area last year as they had IMHO a great Hex Ourtoberfest the previous year. I personally kept my favorite liquor store moving several cases for the cause. |
Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
Good to "See" you, Alan. :)
Raspberry Truffle Abduction Imperial Stout by Pipeworks Brewing Company today. It was OK, though not one of my favorites from Pipeworks, who make some pretty nice stouts. |

Since my tastes have drifted away from reds, I would say this is very good. I was not expecting much but it is well balanced and quite drinkable. |

Innis and Gunn whisky barrel matured. Given to me by a friend. I have no idea what it cost, but the packaging looked fancy! Went very nicely with my Acadian meat pie (Superstore - fellow Canucks) - organic tomato, avo and aged balsamic. The beer is gentler than Theaksons Old Peculiar, but the tart ale taste really reminded me of T.O.P. Delish. |

Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA
Moose Drool Brown Ale - Big Sky Brewing Lagunitas IPA Pliny The Elder - Russian River Fresh Squeezed IPA -Deschutes Brewery SA was just okay, everything else was very good |
