I have several in the draw in their original boxes. I'd just have to check the bottoms for when they were issued...

If I didn't hate the taste of the fluid I'd be all over it. For some reason all I taste is fluid when I use zippos. :(

E. Margate in an Italian Viking pot. My first half bowl (I'm still breaking in the Viking) and I just started it. So far, so good. :tu Even with no drying time it is a very cool smoke.

Break in can be a pain. The Comoys is going slow. Fortunately it is not a big bowl so I can smoke a whole bowl. It is picky on tobacco too. It chokes on anything even the slightest bit moist. I have tobacco drying all over the place!

Sutliff PS Old San Francisco in the MM Legend, that didn't need to be broke in;)

I tend to always dry, clench and sip so I rarely have issues like that, but you might try having the air-way opened:

These guys do it (no connection):

I use small half pint Mason jars for tobacco that I've dried and is ready to smoke; usually just a bowl or three.

I used the cob with Anniversary Kake. The smoke was great until the level got a tad too low in the cob then I started sucking ashes. Yuk. It's the way the stem is in the cob I think that makes that happen.

Reminds me why I dont smoke that cob very much I think!

If you are not using a filter Bill, start using one, and then change it out every 5 to 6 bowls:tu

Agreed, they need something to stop them up a little bit. I'm using a restrictor from a Savinelli.

Third pipe of the day was some E. Peacehaven in a Ropp Lecture Strawberry. Thanks for the advice, Rev! The Ropp has a small, narrow bowl and it made a huge difference. :tu

I think this pipe was made for this tobacco. It smokes other tobaccos like a dog, but shines with this one. :dr

Why not just dry a couple bowls worth. Leave it out. When it feels dry enough, put it in a small mason jar 'till you're ready to smoke it. Dark pressed Virginias, like Dark Star, I will dry until they're bone dry, and I get no bite. They seem to keep well when dried, too.

Between cigars I have been plowing through some trade & gift tobaccos. Cinnamon and vanilla this week, both in my workhorse MM Legend cob with a green ebay acrylic stem that I modified & opened up.

Finding a spot to put a dish or plate is tuff right now. Tax paperwork all over every spare spot in my office. Absolutely cluttered. All the bag tobacco is in a humidor that is left open and some bags are open to the air. Thats the best I can do right now. Lots of deductions tho! Hospitalization and home health care in Sept and we bought two cars in March. Paying the out of pocket max wore us out! :gary

I've been steadily smoking from my jar of franken-baccy. It just so happened to have a nice balance of flavors and it will be a sad day when it runs out.

oh, I almost forgot to mention how amazing Dark and Stormy is. Highly recommended for lovers of med Englishes.

This morning is Anniversary Kake in a Boswell poker. I have a bit of franken-baccy also. Its a mix of leftovers of several good tobaccos. They seem to just get better as they marry flavors.
