Don't know how I missed this....

Yea...I remember you saying that it didn't appear that they had Craig in their long term plans, but this surprised me... Then again, with the way the Avs have collapsed....no move surprises me. Off go Steward and Shattenkirk....

I am shocked by the S&S trade even more than the CA one...I think the Avs made a mistake. I think Johnson is a good D-man, but the Blues got the better end of the deal by far IMHO.

Well....suffice to say it has been a tough last bit to be an Avs fan... If my calculations are correct, my Avs have lost 19 of their last 26.

They can put the puck in the net, but have allowed more goals than anyone in the league.

I assume with a run like that, your going to make some significant changes. They have started to rebuild & keeping the puck out of their own net seems to be something they are thinking about....this season is shot...:al

I'm just hoping for the best.....ugghhh...

Understand the desire to turn things around, E.J., but not sure how letting go of Shattenkirk and Stewart can be considered rebuilding?

Embarrassing loss by the Thrashers today. Just disappointing to watch them fall apart in the third with a 3-1 lead.

I think that Avs had to get better in their zone....and getting Johnson starts that. Though I don't know McClement, he is reportedly a defensive minded. In short, I think the Blues went offense and the Avs went defense.
To get someone like Johnson, you are going to have to give something up....and they did. Are they taking a chance, YES....but what they have is not working. You are going to struggle when you need 4 goals to get a win....

The group of guys the Avs have(had) are A TON of fun to watch on one side of the ice....

I assume that 1st round pick will be next year, so let's hope the Blues continue to struggle a year from now.

...and just to be clear, just because I am trying to make sense of this move, doesn't mean I am pleased they made it...or think it was a solid move.

In a few years, we'll see what effect this had on both teams, some great young talent just changed addresses.....

Understood, E.J.......and I don't have to root for the Avs any more now that Craig is gone. ;)

ADD: Some great chances for the Avs....but they can't get anything in. Not even sure it is Niitty as them just not hitting space....

Yea first game with the Blues and he produces 2 goals...I think that's what the Blues were looking for. But lets not forget about the Ducks goaltending tonight...

That was an exciting game to watch. Glad the Sens pulled it off in the shootout.

I was working, ended up getting in time to flip between the Canucks game and the Sharks game. Happy for Craig though.

If I turn this way and kinda pull, I bet I can get the wound opened just a bit more, allowing more salt.....
