I am in the looks for something smaller than my S&W .40.

I want something that is easy to carry at all times. Not sure what caliber I want to go with.

smaller than a .40?

Go with a 9mm

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I am tossed up between that. I want a smaller gun, but not sure if I want the smaller cal. Since I have the .40 already, It would be nice to stay with that.. But, The ones I see for .40 compact, I don't care for the looks.

I still have a ton of research to do before I buy.. It will be in 6 or so months before I get one..

Check out the Kahr PM and CM models. I have the PM9 (9mm) and its a great carry gun, they make it in .40 S&W as well. The CM is the same size, but is a less expensive model.

I have a Rem Nylon 66 .22, it has a tubular magazine. They made a variation with an insertable stacked magazine. It is a lot easier for me to say clip-fed and tube-fed since they are both magazines. Is there any better way to describe this?

What Brian says. The Kahr CM9 will be my next purchase.

IMHO, the LCP is almost too small for a mans hand. The LC9 is manageable.

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I like the size of the LC9/keltec pf9. The PM/CM9 is nice too. I've shot the CW9 which is about the overall size of a Glock 27 but has more grip length. I'm still debating CM9 or CW9. CM9 is pocketable but the CW9 is small on the hip

Interesting choice on the synthetic motor oil for the lubrication of the pistol. You didn't trust the Gunzilla?

If I asked you to toss me a clip, you'd know what I meant.

Depends on the man and his hands and his preferences, doesn't it? I think you mean your hands and preferences. Ruger hasn't sold eleventy billion of them to just women, now have they? No reason to be misogynistic about it.

Devil in the details. I agree for the most part. BUT...it fits nicely in my cargo shorts in the summer and is crazy lightweight.

Not a man cutter like a .45, but way better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick if the SHTF.

Guys get so defensive of opinions, nobody here tells us what cigars to smoke and we all like different things. I'm just saying, IMHO, the LCP is not a gun made for MOST mens hands, that's all.

Partagas Serie P No. 2 Tubos - Enjoyed one of these when I was in Japan with my Army brother. Stayed at the Turtle Inn in Nikko and enjoyed it in the lounge in the Inn with my brother, my brother-in-law, and some guy from the Philippines who happened to be staying in the Inn that night as well. Great times.

Most of my most memorable cigars are tied to a memorable experience with great company.

Well I wasn't planning on buying a new gun when I went to the range last night but I couldn't pass it up. I saw an old friend walk into the range with few guns that he was trying to trade/sell to the shop, one of them was a lightly used Rock Island Arms 1911 .45 compact. He told me all he wanted was $150 and since I had just won about $150 at the casino a few nights ago it was an easy decision. I wasnt a big fan of the packerized finish at first but I am really starting to like the rugged look.

I'd been in the market for a semiauto .308/7.62x51 rifle for a couple months. Not much luck, even the usual online suspects are sold out of so much stuff!

But I'm perserverant if nothing else. One of the local shops had a DPMS LR-.308 AP4 on the shelf a week or so back. Wasn't really leaning towards the AR-10 platform (more of an M1A enthusianado) but after handling the DPMS and doing just a tiny bit of haggling I walked out with it.

Only been able to shoot it about 60 yards so far but that was from prone and the bullet holes were piled on top of each other.

yeah it was a pretty easy decision, I took it to the range last night and put another 100 rounds through it and I absolutely love this gun, however some new sights might be in order though.

Picked myself up a Springfield Armory EMP 9mm last week. It sailed thru break-in with zero malfunctions from several kinds of ammo. After cleaning/oiling, it went right onto my hip in an IWB holster.

Springfield makes good guns. I love 1911s but I think I'd only buy one in 45ACP or 38Super. That's just my personal preference

Mark. Check out Theis Holsters and PJHolser.com
Both of these are one man shops and they make them by hand. They are priced reasonably with relatively short wait times. They are priced pretty well too. I have a Theis holste for a 1911 and I have a PJ holster in route for my Kahr

I got those and 10mm covered already emopunker. Come to think of it, the GSG-1911 in .22lr counts too.

I got my IWB for my 1911 from these guys:

http://www.wildbillsconcealment.com/wildbill/shop/

Quality is top-notch. They even bought black painted snaps to match the color of the leather. That way it's less likely to stand out.

I bought the Summer Heat model, with a FBI cant, which goes for $60.
http://www.wildbillsconcealment.com/...px?itemid=3024
Springfield XD45 is also on the list for that model holster.

I second the crossbreed recommendation. Great holsters. I also have a milt sparks for the 1911 and it is a work of art, but the 7 month wait is cruel.

I have to agree on the Cross Breed. Back home I used one every day for my full-sized XD in .45. I'm a pretty skinny guy and I was dubious about carrying something that large as my every-day weapon, but that holster really made it possible. I tried maybe four other holsters before settling on the Cross Breed. It took a little time for it to break in suitably for me, maybe a month, but it was well worth every penny once it shaped up.

By the way, I ended up using their "combat cut" shape, and that turned out to really facilitate quicker draws for me since "space" is at such a premium. The guys there at the factory also were very accommodating with answering questions for me before hand and some special shipping requests that I had.
