Ok didn't take a picture cause it was hard enough to sneak the box in without getting caught by the lady but Eric made me buy a box of these

Stopped in at my B&M today, picked up a butane lighter, finally a nice one. And 4 sticks:

CAO Amazon
CAO Double Maduro

And I dont remember the other 2, I'll check when I get down stairs.

The buddy that originally got me on good cigars worked there, so he threw an empty Arturo box my way. Successful trip.

My guess it's like the Opus where they have a dress box for display at the store but send more generic boxes with the cigars for retailers to refill the dress boxes and will put that on there to try and keep the retailer from selling the non dress boxes.

My honest guess is that it's just some marketing gimmick from CI because it honestly LOOKS like they're trying to make the "REFILL NOT FOR RESALE" look rustic or whatever. I dunno, the whole box was only $39.99 because the claim was somebody at the factory accidentally printed that on something like 5k boxes so they couldn't sell them as full priced or whatever. The claim it's the exact same cigar, just different packaging, so I'll take the chance and believe them at $40 :p

I really think these were intended for refill unless it is indeed a gimmick for/by CI. The regular 1968 boxes do not look like these at all so I don't think it was an 'accidental' printing on the box. Famous has the regular boxes on sale for $60... and I bought one a couple weeks before CI ran the $40 special. Needless to say I had to buy one from CI too as these are tasty :D

I believe they were the weekly special, but I can't imagine they went through all 5k boxes (who knows though) so maybe they'll show back up as a special again here soon.

I really should re-visit Padilla. I never disliked them when I have had them but for some reason it's the one brand that always manages to slip off my radar.:sh

I hadn't tried them up until a few months back, but I've been quite happy with the few singles I've been bombed and the '68 lanceros I got. That's why I didn't have a problem picking up this box even though I haven't tried this size

Especially at that price point. I'm willing to pop on a box that's unknown at prices like that if they general feedback was good. I did that last week with the Cuba Libre Ones. Smoked one ROTT and enjoyed it so in my eyes it was a Score!

These just got delivered. Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne Figurados and Perdomo Lot 23 Connecticut Toros. :dr I can't wait to smoke them but they need a few days to a weeks rest as the Texas heat has gotten to them. The boxes were very warm when I opened the package. :td
