Realize just how valuable Panarin is to Kane after watching Teravainen, Dejardins, Cekac, Panik and other scrubs try to take his place the last 2 games. :hn |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Sorry guys I have not been more active here. This is the first time in many years that I have not followed hockey as close as I have in the past(got caught up in broncos fever again). I am ready for the final run and the playoffs and I will start to follow the Avs and Hawks more closely :tu

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Thank God for the Jets :D
Sorry, Neil! |

Yeo's a good coach. Team might get a little jump in the short term, but they have bigger issues in the long run.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Gotta love this guy! Seems Francois St Laurent won't be welcome in Winnipeg anytime soon.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Wild are 3-0 under Torchetti. Almost look like a real team. Pretty much proves they just quit on Yoe. Too bad. They are winning puck battles again and even moving their feet on the pp. I've said it before but we have a team of premadonnas here.....man it's annoying.:sl

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
So what do you think it's like for a guy like Hall or RNH, to be "the man"....go #1, then work that moniker as best you can, it's a tough roll. Being Canadians doesn't help, carry a Country with that. Then....boom, this kid is jumping and special.
So, to be "the promised one" since you're probably 8(?), to have the chosen one come in and jump.....what's it like? They have to watch it everyday in practice. |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
2pts for the Avs. I will not complain!

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
The more I see him, the more I love what he's done. THN had him at #37 to start the year.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
#37 currently, or all time, E.J.? If it was all time, that's a joke. I watched a 44 year old man look like a man against boys tonight against Winnipeg, easily the best and hardest working player on the ice. If he hadn;t gone back home for a few seasons, he'd be second all time ahead of Howe and trailing only Gretzky, and actually likely giving that "unbreakable" record a run for the money.
Regarding the Edmonton question, yeah, it must be strange. Looks like Hall has actually stepped up his game, but he can't compete with McDavid. As for as RNH goes, he will be wearing a different sweater by next season. Nice job by Barrie tonight, got me a GWG in the fantasy league. :wo |

The #3 all time goal scorer went right over my head last night....
But yea, THN did a ranking in April of last year and had Jagr at #37. I would never assume I know enough about these guys to make a list or move cats up or down(I don't know half of them). Here is their top 50. http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/th...rowback-style/ 1. Wayne Gretzky 2. Bobby Orr 3. Gordie Howe 4. Mario Lemieux 5. Maurice Richard 6. Doug Harvey 7. Jean Beliveau 8. Bobby Hull 9. Terry Sawchuk 10. Eddie Shore 11. Guy Lafleur 12. Mark Messier 13. Jacques Plante 14. Ray Bourque 15. Howie Morenz 16. Glenn Hall 17. Stan Mikita 18. Phil Esposito 19. Denis Potvin 20. Mike Bossy 21. Ted Lindsay 22. Red Kelly 23. Bobby Clarke 24. Larry Robinson 25. Ken Dryden 26. Frank Mahovlich 27. Milt Schmidt 28. Paul Coffey 29. Henri Richard 30. Bryan Trottier 31. Dickie Moore 32. Newsy Lalonde 33. Syl Apps 34. Bill Durnan 35. Patrick Roy 36. Charlie Conacher 37. Jaromir Jagr 38. Marcel Dionne 39. Joe Malone 40. Chris Chelios 41. Dit Clapper 42. Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Where the Hell is Dave Manson?? :D
Lists are subjective, lots of greats on that list. Jagr would definitely be in my top 20 though. |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Boy I gotta say, this might be the best outdoor series game I've ever seen. Other than that elbow to the mush of Zucker. That was pretty ugly.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Worst one I've seen, Pete. :lr
Hawks really stunk it up. I don't think Rosival's hit on Zucker was dirty, thought he caught shoulder (no "hit to the head" penalty assessed), and Zucker was just unlucky enough to crack his coconut when he went down. Hope he is OK long ter. |

Just watched one of the Avalanche pulling out a tooth on the bench after catching a puck in the mush. Ouch. |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Hey Tom - hot of the press - Ladd is headed back to the Blackhawks.
Hope for him you guys make a run of it..... |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Would not be disappointed to see the Blackhawks beat the Preds night now.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Most people liked Ladd. I thought him over-rated myself. He is going to be expensive next year anyway, especially if he goes deep into the playoffs - his value will go up. I think Ladd did the best of everybody...
I think we did alright too: "top pick, top prospect" being touted around town. Is Marko Dano any good? - I see he was playing with the Hogs - ?development, or does he just not make it in the NHL? |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Hawks gave him a chance straight out of camp, Neil, and he didn't stick. And he hasn't been back, so he certainly isn't ready for the Hawks line-up presently. But he is very young, and has a lot of "potential"....maybe he will live up to it in the 'Peg.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Heard Dano will make his Jets' debut tomorrow.
The Jiri Sekac era has ended in Chitown. |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Man I loved watching that Avs vs Wings alumni game. The old school highlights had me going and the game ended right! What a great rivalry!!! Hold chit what a ton of players!
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Avs lose the Stadium Series game, but win the jersey game. Avs jersey was good lookng, and that Red Wings ensemble was just hideous.
Hawks win the preview of the Stanley Cup Finals this afternoon, 3-2. :wo |
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Finally got to watch a Bruins game and I should have known better, 13 for 31 at home, wow that's just terrible, I guess Rask can't take the pressure of playing in front of the hometown crowd. TB was 1 for 27 on their recent power plays, they scored 2 on the PP in 40 seconds against Rask, he's good for what ails you!

I just don't understand the trade for Boedker....
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Hejuk a long time guy for the Avs, so I understand it's hard to see him go. Boedker has a lotta upside....scored 2 GW OT goals against the Hawks when they eliminated the Hawks in 2012.

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Stupid Vashilevsjinovsky was 1 minute from getting me a shutout in the fantasy league. Stupid Canadian. ;) :r

Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
I don't know why I dumped him... bad move on my part, not going to get manager of the year.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
You will if you sweep the playoffs. ;)
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Well we didn't trade Suter unfortunately but we did have the biggest steal of the trade deadline. We got an actual hockey player for Niklas Backstrom. I figured we wouldn't get more than a bucket of pucks for him.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Big game tonight, Pete!
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Sure is for both of us. Brodin was supposed to be back for us tonight but for whatever reason he is still on the shelf. Would be much more confident with him back. However keep an eye on our own MN boy Mike Rielly #4 on defense. He's only played around ten games for us but man is this kid a smooth skater. Fun to watch. Hopefully be a good game. What are your thoughts on David Jones EJ? Had a couple nice seasons with your squad.
|
Re: NHL '15 - '16 Season Thread
Funny, the trade that ended Jones' career in Colorado, brought Tanguay back to Colorado...and then both traded again this deadline.
Jones had a couple strong seasons in Colorado, but never was one of my guys. He is what he is at this point, I wouldn't expect much. Now watch him get like 8 minutes tonight and get the game winner.:gary |

Hanging Varly out to dry, both goals were open ice no defender....

Avs D being the Avs D.... Go get another speedy forward!!! |

Nice game, Pete! Ugh...thought when the Avs tied it up, good things were going to happen. Not so much.

I thought for sure it was going to go to overtime. Boy our goaltending needs some help.
