Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Pavelski is one of the only guys I would KEEP if I was a Sharks GM, Tony, maybe Couture and Wingels and then blow up the rest. They're going to need a bunch of luck to sneak into the playoffs this year.

Understood, Tony, just wondering what return would be enough for Pavelski...the guy is a stud.
I think Maurice is sold on MH in net for the majority of your games, Neil, but time will tell. |

Yeah, are they #1 in penalties per game, Neil?

New Boston Bruins forward Brett Connolly might have to wait a while before he can show his new team what he brings to the table. Connolly left practice early Wednesday after taking a Dennis Seidenberg shot to his right hand. It was just Connolly’s second practice with the team after being acquired Monday morning from the Tampa Bay Lightning for two second-round draft picks. Bruins coach Claude Julien offered little update on Connolly after practice, although Julien did say Connolly will see the team’s doctor.
I blame Rask :bh:bh:bh |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
I had a bad meal at Union Oyster House in Boston once.
I blame Rask for that too.... :r:r:r |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Lived in Boston for 18yrs, used to walk by the Union Oyster House every day, little bit of coolness for you, the Bell In Hand tavern on the corner of that building is not only the oldest tavern, but in the show I Dream of Jeannie, Major Nelson had a bar sign behind his front door on the wall, it was the sign from The Bell in Hand... I loved that show growing up (I was from Satellite Beach, the town next to Cocoa Beach where Tony and Jeannie lived), so as soon as I saw the sign hanging outside the bar I recognized it. Now what was I saying .. oh yah ... Rask sucks.
WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Newly acquired Boston Bruins forward Brett Connolly broke a finger on his right hand and will be out six weeks. Connolly was hit in the hand by a puck during Wednesday's practice at Ristuccia Arena. He exited the ice early and was examined by the team's hand specialist. The Bruins acquired Connolly on Monday from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a pair of second-round draft picks in 2015 and 2016. The former first-rounder practiced with the Bruins on Tuesday and was participating in drills Wednesday when the shot hit his right hand and broke his finger. |

I've been enjoying the bits and pieces of Wings' games I've caught this year. I love how the young players have progressed, especially Tatar.

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Wings have a great chance to come out of the East, Mike. How cool would it be if the Hawks could get through (without Kane 1 or 2 rounds), and have a Hawks-Wings SCF?
|
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Not only does Ottawa make silly laws and impose taxes, they also have an annoying little hockey team that seems to be on a roll. Sens downed the Jets last night, even chasing poor Hutch from goal. (Although the rotten swines gave the Wild 2 valuable points)
Sooner or later..... |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Now the Avs lose MacKinnon with a fractured foot....:td

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Feel for mackinnon... I broke 3 toes in my left foot last August ... Don't get better fast ( left foot is still swollen ).

Rask has been standing on his head, 3 goals in over 120+ shots:banger
The last 3 wins are his. |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Hawks took down the Sharks quite convincingly. The West is almost a league of its own right now. Very entertaining!

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
NHL GMs to discuss Goaltender Interference ... Tim Thomas says screw that!
https://youtu.be/L5Ux-vs6EvY I know this is a homer post, but THIS should be interference, Looch wasn't even in the blue paint and Price cross-checked him, of course what do you expect from les habs. https://youtu.be/xQFX3WaX0Ek oh and nice head hunting try from mr. classy... |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Ah oui Monsieur - but he doesn't need to do that, because there's not a whole lot of rubber that gets past the kid.
This time of the season they get a little testy. |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Jets had a great game last night, holding off the Bolts.
Engstrom proves he's as tough as nails. Takes a huge boarding hit and goes off bleeding, only to come back after a few quick stitches. Feisty little guy. http://www.thescore.com/news/722021 |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Hockey players in general are the studs of the sports world. Tom you can just ignore that bit, your head is big enough as it is. Phra.....again nm
|
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Hockey players are a different breed, Adam, especially at playoff time. Ask Duncan Keith or Patrice Bergeron. The Last Gladiators. :tu
Lucic? Sorry, he proved what a clown he is again after today's game with the Caps. Just once, try to have a little class or dignity after a loss, Milan. ;) |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
I have to say that last series and those two were probably pretty much the extreme, although others have played with some serious injuries those guys had multiple injuries.
I missed it and I've given up on him having any class or sportsmanship, let's face it that's not "his game", that being said it would be a lot better if he could put up Cam N. numbers .. :r |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
We could all use Cam on our teams, Adam, maybe clone him? :D
I'd take Bergeron on the Hawks in a minute, and even let you keep Milan. :) |

Great night at MTS Centre with the Jets winning in a shoot out. Hard game with the Blues. Arena was really loud! Fickle fans were chanting "Pav-vie" after wnating to lynch him a week ago! He didn't leak much, but Myers and Stafford are really looking like a good trade about now. Both were playing incredible games, with Stafford first star of the game. The West is getting interesting with a real battle for the wild card spots. This season rocks! (If you're not in Toronto of course - which means - this season rocks!!!) |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
as Rask slowly chokes away the season ... :bh

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Not only is he a cheap shot artist, holder of the most missed elbows throw (throw by him and just missing people's heads) and numerous other distinctions, he now get's a minor fine that will mean nothing to him, they need to start suspending players for diving, don't care what team they play for.
NEW YORK -- Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban has been fined $3,000 for diving in a game against Ottawa, his third fine in three months. He paid up after getting warnings twice in January for diving against Tampa Bay and the New York Rangers. A third citation for the dive on March 12 against the Senators triggered the $3,000 fine. If he gets another warning this season, he will be fined an additional $4,000, and Montreal coach Michel Therrien must pay a $2,000 penalty. |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
When it starts costing his coach (who makes much less) money, maybe it will stop.
I would also like to see Brad Marchand quit diving. Or P.K. connecting with one of those elbows to Marchand's head. Or both. :D |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Sure hope my Wild get a second crack at the Hawks this postseason now that we actually have a goalie....going to be one helluva postseason.:noon

I would love it Icehog. You know the Blues don't want anything to do with us!
You gonna have Kane back for the postseason? |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Doesn't look like Kane will be back unless the Hawks make it to the Conference Finals....which is still a distinct possibility.
|
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Montreal getting a bit of their own. Jets are bashing them into the boards and generally frustrating them. Jim Slater has a Gordie Howe hatrick - goal, assist and fight.
Ladd looking mean tonight. Yeah baby!!! |
Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Oh wow - Jets fans yelling "We want Carey" to taunt Habs who are down 5-2 with Tokarski in net. Man they have some mean chants!

You want to see a team backing into the playoffs? I present to you The New York Islanders. Confident that will make it but it is very likely they could wind up as a wild card. This after leading the Metro for 2/3 of the season. SMH

Showdown tonight at MTS with Blackhawks - Jets. Jets have had their number all season, and need to keep winning to stay in the hunt.
