Good grief, giving up that halftime-Hail-Mary is simply inexcusable. Even as poor as they were playing (and coaching) to that point, going into the half down by three and getting the ball back would've made it a completely different ballgame. All I can say is what a waste... |
Re: Packer fan thoughts
I was really pulling for you guys, I HATE the giants! Well I mostly hate Eli and I dislike the giants.

Re: Packer fan thoughts
Funny how the two favorites to win the division both had EPIC failures of execution.
Watching the Saints self-destruct was just a chrusher. Then to see them come roaring back for the "win" was great...only it wasn't a win. At least they didn't look like LSU ;( |

Re: Packer fan thoughts
Amazing they lost when its was obvious the NFL gave clear and absolute instruction to the Officials to make certain the Packers win. There's no theory in that conspiracy. Just fact.
Now, the Giants go all the way and beat the Patriots "again" in the Super Bowl. |

Exactly what were you watching? Obviously not the game if you really need to ask that question. FWIW, I'm good friends with an extremely prominent former Giants player who you'd know quite well and even he has a similar opinion. I'd like to add that this friend of mine (can't say who) also told me that he expects the NFL to announce an apology to the Giants regarding the poor (a.k.a. skewed) officiating. He also expects (was told) the apology to be made public information. So if I know that, I'm not yanking your stogie brother. |

I'm guessing you and your prominent Giant friend are talking about the roughing the passer call at the end? I watched the whole game and besides that, it looked to be fairly balanced officiating. |
Re: Packer fan thoughts
That, a few other things and of course the fumble which was miraculously not a fumble although a one eyed man with glaucoma could easily see on instant replay that it was, in fact, a fumble.
|
Re: Packer fan thoughts
So the NFL will be making a public appology regarding the calls?
Thanks for breaking it here first! |

I do not contend that there were some questionable calls. There are in every game. What I was asking about is what you based your "not opinion-fact" statement on. As a new member here, nobody knows you from Adam. So why would anyone here take your statements as absolute fact? |

Re: Packer fan thoughts
Well, at least it allowed the Packers to get an extra 7 points!
I'm dying to know who this prominent and prophetic former Giant is, and put my money on the BLT without bacon? |
Re: Packer fan thoughts
The fumble was a pretty crappy call and I thought that the roughing the passer was weak as well. That being said, it's all subjective and as a Vikings fan rooting against the Pack I am biased. Any time there is information that is subjective it can interpreted differently by everyone, and as such there can be no "facts" about it.

I'm as big of a Packer fan as there is, and I thought they were weak calls as well.

Re: Packer fan thoughts
I used to work out with a former catcher from the Boston Red Sox and he never said anything about orders to NFL officials to fix the Packers game.
Please don't ask me who he was, but I will tell you he never said anything about a public apology either. |
Re: Packer fan thoughts
So has anybody sniffed anything of a public apology - or even a minimal apology to the Giants? I went searching the web to find something, and there is nothing of any sort or nature out there.
I have said for years that games are fixed and officiating is often in cahoots. Players on both teams appear to do things that don't make any sense, except that they are trying to make a certain team successful and they're paid to help out in that. Then I realized something after playing referee a few time... ...Men are fallible. Sometimes, their failures are plainly evident. Sometimes, they are not. Usually, it isn't because they are trying to biased in any way, it is because what they see can be perceived differently from different angles. We the two calls discussed here bad in my opinion? Yes! Is it possible that they saw something that made them make such calls? Yes! For example, Rodgers head and neck took quite a jolt on that hit - although, it was because he was knocked into someone, and not because he was intentionally hit that way. If all you focused on was Rodges, and the way he was bounced around, it could have looked like he was hit intentionally. Sometimes, you cannot see the forest for the trees - too focused on one thing, that you miss the big picture. Show me any sport, any game, and you will find bad calls and missed calls by refs. Sometimes glaring, for they have an impact on score. Sometimes, minor. Bottom line? Packers played poorly, Giants played well, refs were bad. Giants won. Packers lost. Peace of the Lord be with you. |
