At least you watched the whole game, most Brewers fans walk away when they are losing:tu

Very true. The Brew Crew is playing like they want to give it up tonight 3 major errors so far, and would be several more if it was not for Fielder.

Well, it was a win! We didn't have to do much but CARDS WIN!

The Crew sort of reminded me of the 06 Series Tigers tonight. It would have been a very different game without those 4 errors. But, hey, a win is a win.

What I can't figure out is the bullpen. Tony has been quick with the hook throughout the NLCS. Is the bullpen just better than I thought? Or, has Tony just figured out how to use them against the Brewers? Or, maybe having Duncan back makes the difference?

I watch a lot of MLB Network and Harold Reynolds always impresses me with his pitcher v. batter matchup analysis. Tonight, he looked at Dotel v. Braun. When Dotel last faced him, in Game 3 I think, he got him on a diet of curve balls. Tonight, Braun didn't see a curve ball until the last one for strike 3 ... he hung that one but Braun couldn't connect. Love that cat and mouse strategy stuff. But, it tells me something about game preparation with the bullpen.

Re: St Louis Cardinals Fans Sound Off!

I don't know either. Last night I would say we were up so preserve Garcia for another game and the bullpen is getting the job done. But he has taken pitchers out in the 4th or 5th for being behind as well. Maybe at the final stretch you try and spread the workload around.

The curveballs make perfect sense, what would Braun expect? A curveball so save it for the out! But what if he is thinking what Dotel is thinking he might least expect a curveball since that's what he received last time:r

wow what a game last night the cars really used our errors to their advantage, and tony sure does use some strat guess we'll see how many games are played in Milwaukee.

I think the bullpen is working because Tony has an extra pitcher in there, giving him that extra option when needed! Tony brought an extra pitcher to replace an injured player that he left off the roster. I think that is a big help. Plus, the bullpen is really playing at the top of their game! Can't remember the pitcher that pitched to one batter only, but he had one *****in' slider!

oo oo not even minutes after my post Hart starts the bat order and home run.... this game may have many mound visits and hits.

Anyone catch fielders fly ball when the guy waved his arms like he was flying for out #3

Against all odds, and with the full commentator forces aligned against such a win!!! Listening to the announcers at the front of the game, you'd think there was no use watching the game, because there was NO WAY St. Louis could win!!

GO CARDS!!!!! Way to hang in there and prevail!!

Your statement is so true. I think the announcers really believed it until after game 6 when one of them said "How did this happen?" That statement and the tone gave me goosebumbs.

The wife is rooting for Oquendo.

Even though he still has a year left on his contract, I would be trying to figure out a way to snag Maddon from the Rays.

I figured Francona would land in STL, but after hearing that Quade got canned today, he'll probably re-unite with Epstein in Chicago.

Brian Cashman has announced that the Yankees' off-season concerns are pitching, pitching, pitching, and that he has no interest in trying to improve their offense as he sees it as being sufficient already.

To me, this means Pujols in Pinstripes as DH next year. :r

Pujols in the DH role spells his death nail to me. As much as I hate the Cards right now (b/c of the Reds rivalry from 2010) I cannot wish Albert to end that way (in the dh spot). I don't want to see him end up like Dunn. He needs to be a position player, and hopefully he'll stay in STL.

It's more than a little confusing where he might go. Not so much on how tight it has been kept but what kind of person Pujols is. If it's for the money (which I doubt it is) I see the reason being to donate most of it to the charities he supports. The only other side I can see is if he really and truly loves baseball the best bet would be to go to the stud farm in the role of a DH in his later years. If he has to leave St Louis I would like to see him go to the Cubs.

As far as the Reds go....:D I might be going to the Reds St Louis game in April while I'm at my parents house near Louisville.

I'm jealous. I've yet to go to a Reds game at GABP. I need to make the trip sometime in the near future.

RIP Bob Forsch. Only 61 years old ... some of you may have seen him throw out the first pitch for game 7 last week.

Pitched for the Cards from 1974-88. Right hander with a record of 163-127 and a 3.67 career ERA with the Cards.

He is remembered most as the only St Louis pitcher to ever throw 2 no-hitters. I remember him best as a competitor ... sort of a Chris Carpenter of his day. In addition to being a gritty pitcher, he could also handle the bat ... won 2 Silver Slugger awards.

As Ozzie says ... heaven just got a new starter.

The best 200,000,000.00$ ever saved. I would have liked to see Pujols in a Cub's uniform, either way it's a good move for St. Louis. But the Angels? Really? So much for being a Cardinal for life and letting God choose his path, well maybe he is an Angel for a reason

Who said he was a waste of space?

He is 32 (maybe) 10 years from now unless he is really a machine 1st base will not be an option. St Louis can better invest the money in more players and have a more well rounded team.

I bet the Angels will call him a waste of space in 2022.

My condolences to all the STL fans. Big time money contracts in the MLB suck.

I really think it is for the best. Some say he had an off year I say he is on the decline. Even if his decline is better than most in baseball agreeing to a 9-10 year contract for that $ would have been insane. Losing TLR was a much bigger loss IMHO.

Your argument might hold water if he started off like a gangbuster and slumped as the season wore on, but the exact opposite happened. Then he continued to feast on opposing pitchers in the playoffs (1.155OPS). If that's slowing down, everyone else in baseball must be in reverse.

I'm talking lifetime not season. St Louis had his best years, sad to see him go but with the money and time being offered it's still a good decision for him and St Louis.
