Can any of you midwesterners get me a couple (or few) cans of Surly Furious? I made a clone but have never had the real thing. Send me that and I can send you some Texas specific stuff- St Arnolds, Jester King, local only Shiner stuff etc.

I'd try to get some abrasive while you're paying the shipping premium. It's good stuff :tu

I bought both yesterday. I love them both but DT is much more available than Hopslam and they are both great DIPAs so I buy a bunch of both

I'm getting a case here pretty soon of Hopslam so I didn't get a whole lot of Double Trouble even though it's amazing this year.. I just wouldn't be able to drink it all soon enough before the hops fade. I just like hopslam a little more. I usually only drink on weekends, so I'll be busy for a while with Hopslam.

Now thinking back, I thought 2009-2011 Doggie Claws was great too.

I bought myself a 6 pack of Obsidian Stout made by Deschutes Brewery that I thought was amazing. Very nice drink.

Obsidian is very good for just a regular stout. I wish I could get it more often.

Good day for beer in VT. Lagunitas distribution just started, and double trouble made it, plus Lawson put a few more cases of Double Sunshine out there.

Enjoying a Sucks right now, so psyched to be able to get Lagunitas here!

The barrel aged faystons imperial stout was available today too. I couldn't bring myself to lay down the $25 for a bomber though. I'm sure it's good, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

2011 FBS is drinking at its best right now. I either love it really fresh, like with in 1 or 2 weeks of bottling, or I like it with about 5 or 6 months on it.

I have a couple with about 4-5 years. Think they are any good?

Maybe. Coffee and chocolate are most likely all gone by now. There is a small window of time between 6-8 months that I think FBS drinks best. That's my taste though, and the past 3 years its been the same story. I've had a year old bottle that was still good, but you could tell it was on the down slope. Coffee stouts are finicky beers.. The only one that I hear that holds up to more than a year of age is Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee.

Central Waters Peruvian Morning holds up great for a coffee stout. Should get my new ones when I get into town today, had a few places save me some. Will test last years with fresh ones next weekends.

How's this? We just started getting it. Had their rye pale the other day and liked it a lot.

Liking some double trouble right now. Had a homebrewed breakfast stout clone earlier. It's been 5'ish months on that one, flavors are starting to die. Time for a new batch.

Just had one tonight but pretty darn good I thought.
Clean, pretty hoppy without being totally over the top...
Definitely buying more.

2012 Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine. Holy crap, not sure what these guys use but I'm sure its magic.

2012 Central Waters Peruvian Morning. Another home run by CW. This stuff is amazing fresh and is at par with Goose Island BC coffee stout.

It's a good entry level sour. No cantillon that's for sure.
