Yesterday I read "Dress Your Children in Corduroy and Denim" by David Sedaris - absolutely HYSTERICAL!

Other than that...just scholarly stuff. I don't get much time to read things other than for my research, so Sedaris was a nice treat. I would highly recommend it!

I like Sedaris for occasional quality silliness. Right now I'm reading:

Just finished "To Hell and Back" by Audie Murphy. Good read and a great account of the war from a participant's perspective.

Just started Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I am about half-way through it and it is very good. An "epic" story -- the kind of book (series) that I really like, something that I can sink my teeth into. Perfect for my trans-atlantic cruise!

Journey by Michener

A very small book for a Michener work

Finished The Girl Who Played with Fire by Steig Larson. I think I liked this one better than his first.

After ripping through this bit of literary popcorn, I was ready for something with a little more meat. Just started The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution by Bernard Bailyn. This is a 1969 Pulitzer Prize winner for history. It's an academic piece but I'm already a hundred pages into it. All I can say is WOW. This should be required reading for anyone with an interest in current political discussion.

I went from Farseer right into Liveship Traders (Ship of Magic, Mad Ship, and Ship of Destiny). The series is written by Robin Hobb and takes place within the same world just a different location. I'm about to start on book three shortly and I am enjoying the series very much.

If you are a fan of the Fitz character from Farseer, there is also the Tawny Man Trilogy (think it takes place 15 years after Farseer). I've got all three books and plan on getting into them when i wrap up Liveship.

I read this awhile back and I just bought his new book, Jesus Interrupted. I'm looking forward to reading it.

Currently reading The Great Hunt. The second book in the Wheel of Time Series. I'm also reading Puppies for Dummies because I just got a puppy and was a little lost for a bit there.

Just finished Blood Meridian and No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy. Blood Meridian is a tough read, with overflowing violence, but well written regardless. No Country is the best told story I've ever read.

Got into the way back machine and re-read for the nth time "Tarzan". I love that book.
