Re: What are you reading?
Yesterday I read "Dress Your Children in Corduroy and Denim" by David Sedaris - absolutely HYSTERICAL!
Other than that...just scholarly stuff. I don't get much time to read things other than for my research, so Sedaris was a nice treat. I would highly recommend it! |
Re: What are you reading?
I like Sedaris for occasional quality silliness. Right now I'm reading:

Misquoting Jesus by Bart Ehrman |

Necroscope:Invasion by Brian Lumley

Re: What are you reading?
Just finished "To Hell and Back" by Audie Murphy. Good read and a great account of the war from a participant's perspective.

Re: What are you reading?
Just started Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I am about half-way through it and it is very good. An "epic" story -- the kind of book (series) that I really like, something that I can sink my teeth into. Perfect for my trans-atlantic cruise!

Re: What are you reading?
Journey by Michener
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_%28novel%29 A very small book for a Michener work |
Re: What are you reading?
Finished The Girl Who Played with Fire by Steig Larson. I think I liked this one better than his first.
After ripping through this bit of literary popcorn, I was ready for something with a little more meat. Just started The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution by Bernard Bailyn. This is a 1969 Pulitzer Prize winner for history. It's an academic piece but I'm already a hundred pages into it. All I can say is WOW. This should be required reading for anyone with an interest in current political discussion. |
Re: What are you reading?
End Time Delusions by Steve Wohlberg. Very interesting!

Re: What are you reading?
The Third Chimpanzee by Jared Diamond. Im a big fan of all of his stuff.

Re: What are you reading?
Finished the Mistborn trilogy (Brandon Sanderson) about 10 days ago followed by the Farseer trilogy (Robin Hobb) yesterday. Now I need to find something else to read :D

If you are a fan of the Fitz character from Farseer, there is also the Tawny Man Trilogy (think it takes place 15 years after Farseer). I've got all three books and plan on getting into them when i wrap up Liveship. |

Currently reading The Great Hunt. The second book in the Wheel of Time Series. I'm also reading Puppies for Dummies because I just got a puppy and was a little lost for a bit there.

Re: What are you reading?
Just finished Blood Meridian and No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy. Blood Meridian is a tough read, with overflowing violence, but well written regardless. No Country is the best told story I've ever read.

Re: What are you reading?
Got into the way back machine and re-read for the nth time "Tarzan". I love that book.
