Tampa Bay just won't go away.

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Tampa herpes.
Sucks and just keeps coming back. :r |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Scary thing for Boston should be that the big 3 aren''t even scoring (Vinnie, Marty and Steven). If they start scoring, it could be a long series for the Bs.

As big as game 3 was I dont think the Sharks have ever had a bigger must win game.
If they dont win tomorrow I just cant see them taking 3 straight and they will just be delaying the inevitable it would seem. Will be at the rink for the 1st period hoping to catch the ending if its not a blowout. Can only hope Marleau and Jumbo stay hot. See I was invisioning Soupy on Umberger |

Sharks are done stick a fork in them.
Thornton leaves with a injury, you wont see him again,he pulled that in Boston and got his phony a$$ shipped out of town. Nice left jab by Clowe on Kesler almost knocked him out of course the game was over :sl |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Yup. Never expected them to take them.
They buried themselves in this one and can only blame themselves. Maybe next year. :r. Or not |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Raffi Torres hit was awesome.
Guess I'll take up watching the basketball playoffs, it's the only sport that allows contact this time of year. :fl The hit on "Jumbo" didn't look to ruff. To not come back in a game like this something better be broken, severed or destroyed and even then he should have come back to the bench. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Three 5 on 3 goals for the Canucks, all within seconds of going on said advantage....wow. 13 shots, 4 goals. Looks like the East will have to take out the 'Nucks.
That "punch" on Kesler appeared to me, upon several reviews, to be a tap. me thinks it was an awesome (or not) acting job by Kesler. :2 |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Im not biting and you cant make me. :r
I will say I understand your disdain and I am in the boat right next to you. My dislike of the Wings isnt the players its the crest on the chest for all the years they did us. Many of the Wings are great players and you would like them on your team. Its a whole different thing here. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
I never hated the Canucks back in the day. I have liked players throughout the years (Linden, Naslund, Bure, Hedican, Sopel, Jovanoski, Sanderson, Schmautz, Williams, Smyl, Mogilny off the top of my head), and hated a few (Snepts, Momesso). But the last several years I too have hated whoever wears that jersey. Much like the Leafs and Blues back in the old Norris days, I just can't stand anyone who puts on that jersey, although I know that there are a few of them I would love in a Hawks sweater. I don't know how it started, but that's the team I love to hate now. Hate it that they're full of talent and on a roll this year, and I am rooting against them every step of the way....but I am enough of a hockey fan that I have to give them props for the season they have had so far.
I just hope they don't hoist that Cup. :r |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Exciting game, the B's didn't wake up until the second.
The power play is non existing and their passing sux's,but hey they won that's all that counts Timmy was GREAT:D |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
That Thomas stick save on Downie was unreal. Looking forward to Game 6 Wednesday, as well as Game 5 tomorrow.
|
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
They have played their best with their backs against the wall. Hope they can win atleast one more for pride and bring it home where the tank would be electric for game 6. Without Jumbo odds are very low.

|
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Not a great game by the B's last night.
Power play still stinks but we can expect that. They had better chances when they brought the puck in over the blue line instead of shooting it to the corner, from the red line. (stupid dump and chase) :2 They also had a few chances when they moved Chara down low and moved Bergeron to the point. 12 min in the first without out a shot by the Bruins embarrassing. Timmy was great last night :banger |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Latest on "Jumbo":
The sand was removed from his whoha. However, there still is some irritation and it will be a game time decision if he will play or not. :D |

LULs.
Interesting link http://www.nhlnumbers.com/teams Sharks have no cap room. But hopefully letting Huskins, Wallin, and Nitty go will help them grab I great D man. Heatley is a Shark until 12/13 unless they package him. Not sure the Sharks are willing to let go of anything young though. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Maybe Heatley will show up tonight, Mike? Seems the least he could do for what they're paying him.
|
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Im telling you Id be ashamed if I was making that much money and putting or rather not putting up much. Playing the 3rd or 4th line occasionally. Sad.
|
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
I agree, Mike.
This is my last check in until late night....watching the game on TiVo delay and don't want any spoliers. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Not going to watch tonight. I have my first actuarial exam in the morning and I feel like study and sleep are more important. Sharks better win so I can see them play one more time this season.
|
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Good game. Good series.
The better team won. I hope San Jose has taken enough out of them that he get rolled for the cup. :r |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Disappointing finish for the Sharks, I know that they wanted to take the next step to consider this season a success.
Props to Luongo, he played well. For the first time in many years, I will be rooting for the East team to win the Cup. |

As side as I am I have realized there is a bright side and that is that I can finally shave. Sadly the playoff beard is done.

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Flukiest series winning goal since Darius Kasparitus beat Dominick Hasek forever ago.
|
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Go Bruins. It's been a long wait to get here. They can rely on Tim Thomas so much. I think/hop the B's will come out charged and hard hitting. If they can fix their power play scoring woes, they are on their way to the Stanley Cup.
I am anxious for this game tonight. |

He had a great playoff run, and that had been the big knock on him. I think he exorcised those demons.
Danny Heatley, on the other hand..... |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Yeah Mike you were coming off like a Dbag who jumped the gun just to take a shot at a player you dont like, but glad to see you give him some respect for maning up.
I think both Jumbo, Patty, Gooch removed the questions this year. Its a shame the year they show up the rest of the team chose to Submarine them taking horrible penalty after penalty and just go missing. The rookies and some players shot the team in the head on 2 of the first 3 losses. When they played smart it was an even game with either team possibly winning. Will be interesting to see what tweeks they make in the offseason. Sure Huskins, Wallin, and Nitty are gone. Wondering which role players are gone also. Will be interesting to see if they try to package Heatley to move him. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Rafalski is just retired. Lidstrom is expected to return for another year, but the Wings could lose both this offseason. Selei is not expected to return and Ericsson is likely to get bigger offers elsewhere. Need at least one big time D-man in free agency, possibly 3-4 good ones. :td

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
In looking at the link I posted last page neither the Wings nor Sharks have a ton of cap room. Both will be looking for a top flight D man or some really good ones.
Looks like this is a big off season for both clubs where they will need to dance on the line. The only thing I wonder is if lindstrom can do it one more time. Blake hit the wall bad in his last season. While lindstrom is a better player I just wonder if he can do it again. His stick work in the playoffs was impressive. Edit holy crap they were paying Rafalski 6 mil a season? Wow! |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Kaberle will be available the second the B's are finished,we gave up two first round picks for this piece of dog crap.I just hope he don't cost us a game.
