Had a bottle last night, and a bottle right now of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout... It's pretty tasty this year and not as beery as last years edition. It's super thick tho, that's the only downside, hard to drink.

In the "not enjoying" category - Long Trail Triple Bag.
Double bag is pretty good. I always figured Triple Bag would fall in the "similar but bigger" category. But no, some belgian-y prune-y raisin-y crap.

Enjoying, on the other hand, Stone 16th and Lagunitas Little Sumpin Wild

Scored a brick of Westie tonight - the line was out the door (couple hundred people). I'm not a crazy beer connoisseur, but I had to take a shot at getting my hands on this.

Very nice Vin. Tried one yet?

Nice, Vin. I was looking to score a brick (I love beer) and couldn't get my hands on any. Me and a buddy had a couple people running around NYC trying to find some for us. I'm sure they'll be on ebay soon enough.

I settled on a couple Keegan's Mothers Milk and a couple Southern Tier Old Man Winter Warmer to help drown my sorrows.

Dark Horse One Oatmeal Stout - tasty

Westvleteren 12 - lives up to the hype, damn good Quad.

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?

I brewed a Berliner Weisse a while back that I like a lot but I had never had a commercial example to compare to. It is a perfect lawnmower beer but I wasn't really sure I had made a Berliner so I picked up a couple examples that I can get here to compare to.

Professor Fritz Briem 1809 - Good, but not all that tart
White Birch Berliner - Great. Nice and tart.

Wish more breweries would get on this style of beer. I'm definitely open to recommendations to seek out if any of you have locals that put out a decent Berliner.

I just finished my first Westy 12. I agree that it was a damn good quad, but I preferred the Rochefort 10. I'll cellar the remainder of the beers and revisit these some time next year.

From what I've read from people with much more sophisticated palates than mine, is 2-3 years is the sweet spot. I plan to try and be disciplined enough to drink one a year at Christmas. But my discipline is typically lacking. :r

The 2012's are great. I wish the 11's were tasting better ( they are great but not for the long haul). I will do a three year vertical soon.
