Makes me thankful that I homebrew and can recreate a reasonable alternative to these (often) overly hyped commercial beers. |

Does Pete Johnson brew KBS?
I thought it was good, but not THAT good! |

We were lucky enough to pick up some at an out of the way liquor store last year. Obviously not so lucky this year. It is honestly one of the top 2 or so brews I've ever had. That and Surly Darkness. There are other very good stouts I've had, but they didn't hit me quite like this did. It's just another example of why there are so many brews and cigars out there...different tastes for different folks. Quote:

My beer for the weekend:
-12pk SN Pale Ale cans -4pk Green Flash Palate Wrecker -4pk SN Hoptimum -4pk Goose Island Matilda and in the back is a Sierra Nevada tin sign that the guy at the liquor store gave me because I have been buying so much SN brews lately :tu |

Re: beer hauls
Drove 10 hours round trip to Ithaca for the Leablu release and got totally shut out at the brewery. There way WAY more people there than they had cases, but for some reason they chose not to reduce the allotment so some 100+ people stood in line for 2 hours only to get no beer. Managed to pick up a bottle randomly chatting up a guy at lunch, so it wasn't a total loss and qualifies as a "haul" I guess.

Re: beer hauls
Cousin has been raving about these brews so I picked some up while I was in Atlanta this weekend. Looking at the BA reviews it looks like theyre all rated in the low to mid 80s. First two Hoplantas were pretty good. I'd buy them again.
Jailhouse Brewing Co (Hampton, Ga) Hop Riot (one time release) Slammer Wheat Breakout Stout Mugshot IPA Red Brick Hoplanta IPA http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7220/7...b2a9f000_z.jpg |

have you tried the Avery yet? |
Re: beer hauls
I tried it last night. Very very smooth for a young 17er. I'm not a big Imperial guy, and only really got them because I try to get all the Avery BA series I can...but I've since gone back out for some more because it is delicious. Looking forward to having another in 6 months or so.
