With a couple assists from his buddies the posts. ;)

Great win for the Avs, hope they can take Game 7 in the Tank.

Hoping the Stars can win another on the road as well.

Well, that sucked.

Hopefully the Avs can pull one out tonight so my 2nd round isn't a total bust. :r

Nice predictin', Stan Fischler!

Now I gotta be a Sharks fan for the next two weeks. :(

Pavelski's was a nice story, as would be Jumbo Joe winning the Cup. Only Blue I would be happy for would be Craig Berube, the rest of them can all EABBODs.

I thought Carolina was the better team through 2. But two stupid penalties and the Bs amazing power play and that was all she wrote. Rask played well, but the Bs need better starts or Tuukka may show those old playoff blues.

IMNSHO that was their most consistent game of the playoffs. All the lines were clicking. Carolina came out throwing their weight around and Boston was like, "OK, if that's what you want we'll play your way...and beat you at it."

icehog3 05-12-2019 11:41 PM

Re: NHL '18-'19 Season Thread

Boston is rolling.

See if the Sharts can beat up on the Blues again tomorrow.

Rask has been really good.

I hope I didn't jinx him. :D

I hate a couple of the teams left, but I won't influence you that way....I'll just mention some good stories.

Joe Thornton (Sharks).....most games played by any current player w/o a Cup.

Craig Berube. Good guy who took over as coach and brought the Blues from 31st the league in mid-January to the Western Finals. (Too bad I hate all the players on that team....there goes my impartiality). :r

Tuukka Rask....his chance to redeem himself for a career of playoff failures (right, Adam? :D). And the kids on Boston....Kuraly, Accari, Coyle....have been amazing.

Carolina? Rod Brind'amour. And their kids on D, Slavin, Pesce, DeHaan, Hamilton...fun to watch.

So who should win the Cup?

I'll go with the Sharks. Gotta root for a guy who hasn't won a cup. :tu Kind of like us tortured Cincinnati fans :(

Until yesterday I didn't think my B's were strong enough to go the distance. If nothing at all its entertaining hockey to watch.

I think Rask has tired of all the talk about how he's not a "Big Game Goalie" and is on a mission.

First an undeserved win against VGK on a bad 5 minute major call, now an OT winner on an obvious hand pass. I'm really rooting against SJ at this point!

A shame a great game like that ended on a play like that. I'm no Blues fan, but I'd like to see a legit goal to win a game.

You forgot to mention the game 7 offsides call on Landeskog & the AVS that reversed a good goal call.

I’d do myself a favor and bet for everyone I want to lose in these playoffs, I’d have made a fair amount of money so far this year.

Maybe we should quickly bet the Sharks, seems like the officiating is on their side this postseason.

Of course, these things can even out, so.....

Re: NHL '18-'19 Season Thread

Rask is killing it. Whenever a B's line needs to step up, it steps up, be it the first or fourth. They're backchecking well and clogging up the D zone well.

One of my biggest year-by-year criticisms of the post-2011, Claude Julien-coached Bruins was that late in games in which they had the lead they always let up and coasted, almost as if they just assumed they'd win the game. IMNSHO that attitude cost them the 2013 Cup.

But now they're playing hard to the last whistle, and the scoreboard's reflecting it.

I'm really feeling good about their chances...

Re: NHL '18-'19 Season Thread

Bruins steamrolling. They are the best team standing this week, question is how will they start in the West goes 6 or 7 games? I bet Rask and the boys wish they were playing Saturday.

Porch Dweller 05-21-2019 08:37 PM

Re: NHL '18-'19 Season Thread

The Blues definitely wanted that one more.

icehog3 05-21-2019 11:32 PM

Re: NHL '18-'19 Season Thread

Blues beat them to almost every loose puck all night long. Sharks had a nice 8-10 minute stretch beginning the 2nd, but then just went pack to looking slow. They really missed Pavelski and Hertl, not to mention EK65. But I never trusted Jones' goaltending from the start.

I'm a Bruins fan for the next 2+ weeks. The last time I was a Bruins fan for 2 weeks, they won the Cup in 2011. ;) :wnr

I wouldn't mind seeing 7 great games, Jeff.

Of course, 4 would be ok too if the Bruins win them all in a humiliating fashion. :r

Great win by the Bs! My favorite moment of the game: Tory Krug, no helmet, flying down the ice and laying a flattening check.

Boston had a hard time finding their legs, but once they did...wow~! Good solid win and great start to the Final. St Louis is now 0-13 all time in SC Final games. Let's keep that trend going... :r

Great game by the Bs. They've got me thinking they can take the series. Rask is still in the the zone. It's worth noting that both Blues goals were shots that were going wide but deflected in off of Bruins D-men. Could have been a shutout for Tukka.
