I will be on MW3 in a few hours! Rented it! Should have a decent CTF team if anybody wants to join, we won 65 straight matches in Black Ops.
We won't need any runners, just defenders.

You should have saved the clipped in the vault...I saved one recently where in Team Defender I stole a juggernaut, took the flag, sat in the corner while 3 flashed me and tried to knife me while I was blinded. My team mate ran in and watched

I got a kill in the similar scenario in Black Ops. I was dead, care package landed on his head for the game winner. Also got a couple kills on MW2 with Emergency Airdrop crates. :tu

I'm loving CTF. That was my fav mod of my old Quake days. I'm no good, but if you just need a warm body I'll give it a whirl.

My ID is M3a5g7. I might be on tonight. Not 100% sure.

I haven't tried them on the Xbox yet, I play MW3 on the PS3 and so far there have not been any problems. I absolutely LOVE them. My K-D ratio has definitely gone up and it makes the game that much more enjoyable and immersive. Although the very first game I played with them I did horribly as all I did was wander around and listen to the things within the map LOL

What do you guys recommend for a good headset? Do I need surround sound or is amplified stereo good enough?

I do not want to spend a fortune, maybe around $100. I was thinking about getting wireless but I have been reading about interference. My gaming console is across the room, maybe 5-10 feet away from my couch.

I have been looking at Turtle Beach, but my brain cannot comprehend all of the different models.

---

Anyone got any advice on how I can get better at this game? This is my first time playing a first person shooter game on xbox.

I usually get 3-4 kills and 10-15 deaths per game.

What do you recommend for a good beginner weapon? I have been using the UMP45, I think I am level 12 or 13 on this gun. Would you recommend switching to another weapon?

Re: Modern Warfare 3

for the smaller maps the ump45 is very good and the m14 is still about the best assualt rifle for the bigger maps.

Hardcore or regular? Everyone I play with only plays Hardcore, regular is for sissies ;)

ACR Red dot and silenced, SCAR grenade launcher and ACOG, AK 47 silenced with a red dot. Sub Machine guns aren't great for bad accuracy because they don't do much damage. :2

I would recommend camping more. 10+ deaths is a lot. Personally, I don't like to die that much. :tu

What is the difference between regular and hardcore?

I usually play standard I think - I have been playing kill confirmed a lot as I can at least get some points grabbing dog tags.

I try camping, but I cannot seem to find places where I do not have someone come up behind me after some time and kill me.

Hardcore, there is no UAV, no respawn kill cam, less damage to kill. It takes more skill, but not everyone can see where they got shot from or notice you on the contant UAV. If you want points to rank-up, play Domination and just get flags. :tu

Surround sound is a must if you actually use your ears when you play, meaning if you pay attention for footsteps running behind the wall you're facing. It's not necessity, but it helps when you start relying on more than just your eyes. Turtle Beach is a rather overpriced headset, however they do make good products and of course they're one of the sponsors for Call of Duty. Astro (http://www.astrogaming.com/) is the official sponsor of MLG, Major League Gaming, which is the competitive league. You can always go for Plantronics, Logitech, Sennheiser, Creative, Tritton, Sharkoon, Steelseries or Razor. I know that seems like there are way too many, but I'll list a couple known ones that are good.

http://www.amazon.com/Sharkoon-X-Tat...5998676&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Surround-Xbox-...5998704&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wirel...5998711&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Force-Wireless...5998730&sr=8-2

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...gheadphones-20

Some cheaper ones...

http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CA-HS1...5998971&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Carcharias-Gaming-Headset-
Black/dp/B001PTH0VW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325998950&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-...5998903&sr=8-1

Caveat... Pay attention if they are XBOX/PS3 Compatible. If they are audio jack only then you'll need to buy an adapter. I hope that helps a little =D

Re: Modern Warfare 3

I use the MK14 with success at all ranges, I used to use the P90. The MK14 works great with CQ hip fires and mid range it is a beast. Long range sometimes takes an extra shot but still really effective. I love the MK14!!! My KDR is climbing fast after switching from the P90. I believe my KDR with the P90 was like 1.04 and with the MK14 it is just under 2.0

Zeuceone 01-09-2012 12:43 PM

The MK14 is my choice for mid and long range shots.

Blak Smyth 01-09-2012 12:46 PM

Re: Modern Warfare 3

So I just checked my stats on COD Elite and with the P90 my KDR was 1.03 and with the MK14 it's 1.74, I don't think I will ever go back to the P90 even though I do have fun with it.

Shoot I cut off the categories: Kill/death ratio, Kills, Accuracy, Head shots, Deaths

I play HC TDM almost exclusively. My go-to gun is the ACR 6.8 Great for mid-long range and the recoil is damn near non-existant. For my Assassin class I use it with attachments and put on the red dot sight and the silencer. The rest of the class is rounded out with Blind Eye, Assassin and Dead Silence perks.
