Re: What do you drive?
Don't be jealous now...
...but I drive a 1993 4-door Mazda Protege. Yeah, it's a mushroomy-gold color. That's the color of wealth, my man. Yeah, it's got silver hubcaps. Shinin' like a star. Oh, I ain't even mentioned the automatic seatbelts. Livin' the luxurious life over here! Yeah, the bumper's a bit off-kilter, and the hood don't latch properly. That's how suckas know I don't even care. I'm hard. What's that? Yeah, it's got the tan and brown interior. Those are the colors of leather, fool. No, it's not actually leather, but the colors remind people of leather, and that reminds you that I'm ballin'. What'd I pay? Man, you can't even fathom bills that large. I'm talkin' FIVE Benjamins, baby. Five hundees. That's right, five-double-o. |

I love the car threads, both me and my are petro-heads, and since we both get a company trunk with our jobs it makes collecting autos pretty fun. Her "off-duty" car is her Lexus IS350, very fast and tech-y. For now at least, her wish list includes a Lotus Evora next. Mine is this:

I know what you are thinking. Yeah, it's an EX. Yeah, it's got the automatic seat belts. Yea, it's got cruise control. Yea, it's the the big motor - 1.6 liters of pure power. One hundred AND eight horses baby. Yea, I took off the wheel covers - cause they were slowing me down! It's ok, you guys can be jealous, I'll still let you ride in it... |

Re: What do you drive?
My ride before this was a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500. I drove it for 14 years. When I finally traded it in, it had close to 175,000 miles on it.
My wife had no faith in it. The only thing wrong with it was the AC was shot. Guy said it would cost more to fix it than my truck was worth. So I had 2/70 air for about 3 years. |

I walk about 90% of the time. 5 days a week, to and from work rain or shine. I found myself renting a car once or twice a month or taking really expensive cab rides out to the suburbs so after buying it for a couple hundred bucks and paying $200 a year for insurance it's still less than I was spending monthly on cabs alone. And not having to inconvenience my wife by making her get a ride to work when I needed our "real" wheels is priceless. |
Re: What do you drive?
I'm currently saving for a supercharger. As soon as I finish this damned test (CPA exam), I'm slapping a blower on.

Re: What do you drive?
Currently have a 03 Altima 3.5SE for my wife, 07 4Runner Sport, 1985 COrvette (looking to sell/trade btw), and a 1998 Dodge Dakota that I use for commuting 75mi a day, for me. I also have a 2003 VStar 1100 custom (actually customized, not just the model designation) and a 2008 Ninja 250 I use for racing and track days.
I love the 4Runner the most I think, but the bikes are a lot of fun too. :D |

Re: What do you drive?
I prefer to drive this
http://oldchurchbbq.com/sharedpictures/Big%20Tess.jpg Preferably in this configuration http://oldchurchbbq.com/sharedpictur...tion%20001.jpg But driving 40 miles a day, I'll take this at 30 MPG over Big Tess's 10 MPG http://oldchurchbbq.com/sharedpictur...%20a%20Fit.jpg We finally replaced my wife's POJ Passport with this little guy about a month ago. Once I got over the fact that I now look UNDER semi-trucks instead of being around eye level and that I can't see over most vehicles like I once did, it's really pretty fun. I still reach for Big Tess's keys when I'm not driving to work though (much to my wife's joy!) |
