Re: Motorcycle Thread..
I'm giving serious thought to selling both my superbike and the supermoto to by a KTM Adventure. Being 6 hours into 'The Long Way Round' isn't helping.

Finally getting around to posting up some pics of my sled. It's an '05 Boulevard c50 (with the c90 -1500- final drive). She's been ridden hard and long and is on her second motor now (bad master barring in the first one). Over 65k miles on 'er now.

I've found this photo all over the web since then lol. My buddy took it with his high speed shutter. You can hardly tell that we're moving... but we're really going about 80mph. Great pic! http://jaycepatterson.com/Pics/album...0744.sized.jpg |
Re: Motorcycle Thread..
This was a good friend of mine and fraternity brother. Won't stop me from riding, but saddens me a great deal and is the 5th friend I have lost to drunk drivers hitting motorcycles.

Man, 4 kids left without a father makes you really wonder if it was his time. I can't stand drunk drivers. |

Re: Motorcycle Thread..
As of five pm yesterday I am a motorcycle owner again. Picked up a 1972 CB350. Can't wait for the inspection so I can ride.

Re: Motorcycle Thread..
Great bike, congrats!
Careful with those brakes, all the 350's I've ridden feel like they have oak blocks for brake pads. :p |
Re: Motorcycle Thread..
While we are currently bikeless right now, I have full support from Sweetie for a Honda VTX1300 whenever we can coincide a good deal with available funds!
I'm ready for a cruiser at this stage of life. My last Bike was a 1995 Ducati 916 I bought from my FIL's estate. Sweet bike for sure, but way too uncomfortable. I got to where I would just rather drive a car. Cramped hips, sore back, etc. We bought my wife a Honda Rebel to ride along with, and she enjoyed it for a while but she's lost vision in her left eye and was just not comfortable on the bike anymore. One day, the planets will align and I'll pick up a cruiser. Hopefully by next years' Sturgis! |

I bought her w/ full expectations of having to do some work and replace some worn parts. Since I decided to buy a vintage bike, the CB350 was my target (albeit not red). This one kind of fell in my lap and the price was right. It is pretty darn near original though, so I am happy. |
Re: Motorcycle Thread..
Sounds like you have the perfect mindset for that fine moto. Enjoy brother.

No scoot :( In the shop getting a rear tire, the front slammed, and handlebars with more pull back. I NEED a second motorcycle.

If I wasn't so old and fat I'd love to try out of the crotch rockets pictured on this thread. They look absolutely awesome and, from what I read in the mags, run like scalded dogs. However, I'll stick to my '07 UltraClassic. It seems that, no matter where I go, I never seem to have enough room in my saddlebags to bring along my troubles and worries.

Definitly looks like a go fast. Keep the rubber side down in the turns.

Re: Motorcycle Thread..
Wheelie for safety, Hal. Besides, your front tire will last longer. :p
Nice ride, I see you can't get the Ducati out of your blood either. Hell, I named my cat 'Desmo' 13 years ago. :r :r |

Put a K&N filter in at the end of last week. Need some hidden cash or some sweet talking to the wife to get me some new pipes. :D Got a buddy coming into town with his harley next week to do some riding with me.

Why is it that the Harley guys never wave when you pass them? Guess it's a Harley thing, gotta own one to be in the club? |
Re: Motorcycle Thread..
I have to admit, I'm getting pretty tired of waving. Arround here it can get to be 5 or 6 times a mile. But then, I never claimed to be very social to start with.

Re: Motorcycle Thread..
It rained over the weekend so it fudged up our riding plans. My buddy ended up staying a day extra just so we could go for a nice day ride. We did a little over two hundred miles yesterday and ended up going down to Helen, GA for lunch and a cold one. The high yesterday was seventy-five so it was perfect riding weather. Stopped at the top of some mountain for a scenic view. It was a great day.

Re: Motorcycle Thread..
Bump.
Anyone been riding lately or has the colder weather put the old two wheeler to rest for the season? Anyone got any new toys or accessories? |
Re: Motorcycle Thread..
Nope. I have always been scared of them. However, my dad is about to buy an HD Heritage Softail Classic and I fell in love with a Superglide that the dealership had in pre-owned stock. I am sorta kinda kicking around the idea of taking the riding class to see how it goes.
