Re: NBA Playoffs
I deem the Denver/LA series must watch t.v. Every game is just so good.
Can Lebron get any help? And can the refs in that series for the love of god be more consistent! The zebras are making the series unwatchable. 80 some free throws last night. That is insane. Great game by the Magic, but why don't they let Pietrus play Lebron more? He clearly frustrates Lebron. |
Re: NBA Playoffs
I gotta agree with you there.
Lame foul calls, all in favor of Cleveland. All ball at the end, and Howard fouls out. No question in my mind who the better "team" is in the Orlando/Cleveland series. |
Re: NBA Playoffs
Did Melo suddenly "choke up"?? What is wrong with him?

Re: NBA Playoffs
Throwing up before the game = Denvers excuse to media for him playing like CRAP the last two games. The bench pulled this one out tonight.
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
J.R Smith finally had a big game and that was the key to the game. He even had some assists which is rare for him..
The thing that bugs me about last nights game is when Dahantay Jones tripped Kobe. That was intentional and I hope he gets suspended. You cannot do stuff like that. |
Re: NBA Playoffs

As for Jones tripping Kobe, I disagree that it was 100% intentional... and if it was, Kobe has thrown quite a few elbows this series that didn't get called and didn't get disciplined later...as for Jones getting suspended, Kobe himself said it wasn't anything expect he tripped over his foot, so Idk how the league would do anything about it. Now onto Melo... I have to disagree with ya kelmac07... Anthony never plays that bad unless he is legitimately sick... I know I have watched a TON of games and even his bad days are better than he played last night. I doubt it was a media ploy. Is he as consistent as Kobe? No. Is he as good a scorer as Kobe? Yes... but like I said he is a more streaky player. :tu |
Re: NBA Playoffs
Well, Mo Williams has guaranteed that the Cavs will win the series.
He also is betting a 5er that they will crush the Magic from here on out. (writer imbellishment):fu Should be interesting and anything is possible. Orlando is quite capable of packing up early as they have proven many times in the past. I'll never forget the 95 finals against Houston. Nick Anderson only needed to sink one free throw and missed 4 consecutive and they never got over it. Made Shaq look like a good free throw shooter. Speaking of free throws, I am amazed that Lebron can hit a fade away 3 pointer with 1 second left and seems to struggle from the free throw line and missed around 40% in game 3's 4th quarter.... |

Re: NBA Playoffs
Magic move up 3-1 after the overtime win last night. Cleveland just looks lost on defense. They go out to guard the 3-ball and they just feed it inside. Cavs double inside, Dwight finds the open 3. Cavs also are having trouble with the pick and roll. It is hard to beat a team that has been shooting so great from 3-point land.
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
Well that should about do it for the Cavs-Magic series... I'm not counting the Cavs out yet... but they are definitely on life support! Someone better come to life on that team or they are toast in the next game or two.
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
I still have a glimmer of hope for the Cavs, but I'm starting to lose sleep over these games. You get so caught up in the game, think you may win, and then the rug is pulled out from under you. It's driving me crazy.
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
While I'm not ready to put this Magic team up with the all time greats, they do have a few plays that remind me of some of them;
A great pick and roll. A dominant big man. Great perimiter shooters. A good bench. Fearlessness. A very motivating coach. I'm also not putting it past Cleveland to rise up and win the next three games, but I like the Magic's chances as well as their chances against whoever wins the West. As long as Lebron James is on the court, Cleveland has a good chance. Of course I am biased as I live in Orlando. |
Re: NBA Playoffs
Stick a fork in the Cavs...Lebron can't beat the Magic by himself!
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
My prediction ====> Cavs win in 7! :wo

Re: NBA Playoffs
If they do, all the "The Commissioner is rigging the NBA games" conspiracy theorists will say they were right. :r

Re: NBA Playoffs
My prediction; Magic win it all game 6 back home in Orlando without Dwight Howard, who picks up his 7th technical foul for blowing a kiss in pregame warmups.:r

Re: NBA Playoffs
Lakers go up 3-2!! We all saw a different more assertive Lakers team last night. They were able to win with 1. Defense 2. Without Kobe scoring 30-40+ points. Great team effort by the Lakers last night. Pau Gasol also showed up in ways that aren't recorded on the stat sheet. Making good hustle plays and altering shots at the basket. Now let's see what happens in the next game. See how Denver responds.

Re: NBA Playoffs
I'm rooting for Denver strictly due to the fact that so many writers already had Kobe/Lebron meeting in an epic finals and I love an underdog.
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
Lakers won because Lamar Odom decided to show up tonight...maybe it was all that candy.

It was crazy...how the hell does he stay so slim? His assistant paid like $ 76 for that..and he said he goes shopping every three days...WOW!!!
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
Maybe that's why Lamar Odom sweats like crazy. Seriously did you guys see one of the closeups of him before he shot free throws?? He was drenched in sweat liked I've never seen anyone. He had to wipe his head on his shorts because his jersey was so saturated.
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
I did see that...next time he might use his socks...LOL!!
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
Wow another huge first half lead blown by the Cavs! 22 point lead down to 1 at halftime.
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
Wow, what a game.
I have never seen a performance like Lebron put on tonight. I really hope there isn't a game 7 in Cleveland or the Magic will rip Orlando's heart out for another year. |

My damn Nuggets have never even been there... Great game tonight by the Cavs... they seemed to be playing much better, but can they keep it up for 2 more games? |
Re: NBA Playoffs
Great game tonight. Hopefully the Cavs get some momentum out of this game.

Looks like the fix is in, I can not believe Lebron commits less then two fouls a game?
|
Re: NBA Playoffs
Quote:
Our local news sure feels that the fix is in, but we're all very aware that nobody is rooting for Orlando except for the people who live here. Once Lebron gets rolling, puts his shoulder down, a foul is on the way. And Verejao is a freakin joke with his flopping act. |
Re: NBA Playoffs

Seriously though, I am rooting for Orlando... I would love to see a Nuggets/Magic matchup to ruin all the media hype of Lebron v Kobe... although I think Denver would have an easier time with the cavs than with the Magic... |
Re: NBA Playoffs
I'd also love to see an Orlando/Denver finals.
Whatever happens, happens, but I don't like Orlando's chances if they don't wrap it up tommorow in Orlando. |
Re: NBA Playoffs
The networks don't want to see Orlando -Denver.
It's all about the ratings = dollars. |
Re: NBA Playoffs
Quote:
I think Orlando definitely needs to wrap it up tomorrow though... if they go back to Cleveland that could be trouble... |
Re: NBA Playoffs
Something that I noticed last night was how much trouble Cleveland has with guarding Dwight. I mean it has been happening all series, but Orlando seems to go to him then move away from him at times. I would say Orlando needs to just feed Dwight in the next game and ride him to a W. Just like Cavs rode Lebron last night, do the same with Dwight.
In 2010 look for Rasheed Wallace to be in a Cavs uniform. He can definitely guard Dwight in a 7 game series and take him out of the game. The Pistons always did a great job guarding Dwight and Rasheed was a huge reason. Although Sheed can disappear at times, Cleveland could use his post defense against Dwight. You all heard it here first, Sheed to Cavs, Cavs 2010 NBA Champs. |
Well its looking like I'm either gonna become a Cavs or Magic fan in about a quarter...the nuggets just can't seem to hit anything...shooting under 40% and wtf is carmelo doing? Looks like he doesn't even care and wants the season to be over...
