If no one else is interested in them then don't bother, no point in adding cost especially since I'm not planning in participating (I've got enough of these already glasses already). It was really more of a suggestion that I thought might benefit others than anything else :2

I have a bottle. I have a glass. Problem solved.

To be honest, the only reason I use the glass is that it's frowned upon in polite society to pull from the bottle.

For the record, I always put water in my whisky because I believe it adds something to the dram. I am opposed to measures because I like my vices without numerating them.

But what glass? IMHO you're losing the most important part of the experience in a good whisky if you're not using the a glass of the proper shape. The taste is defined almost entirely but the nose so if you're drinking from a wide mouthed or tumbler type glass you're not getting a vast majority of the aromatics and might just as well be drinking a mixed drink or the cheapest blend you can find instead of a fine whisky.

Personally I prefer an iso tasting glass over the Glencairn because they tend to be thinner glass/crystal which lets you hand warm the whisky much easier. Plus, being a stemmed glass, they tend not to get as greasy with fingerprints. The Glencairn is still a great glass though and I have several of them as well. Much more robust so it's perfect for a bar or herf where it's more likely to get dropped or knocked over.

I was being flippant. I had also had a couple whiskies since I had the first half of the day off.

I use Glencairn glasses almost exclusively. I do have a couple of other neat glasses that I would use but they're in boxes due to the miniscule size of our kitchen.

I don't need measurement marks though. I have a pretty consistent pour and I add a few large drops of water so marks would be of no use to me.

Although interestingly at the master tastings I attended in Islay they used what we're essentially tumblers.

And I was sitting next to a German who was measuring his water with an eyedropper.

That's correct. I'm ordering the glasses even if it is just 1. To get a discount we need 240

No go on the measuring lines. If you get just measuring lines it will cost as much as the etched glasses.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to bow out. I love the glass idea but it would cost me $54 to get two sent over here and considering that I have whisky glasses still in boxes, I can't justify that.

I've updated the list. Everyone enjoy what will undoubtedly be lovely glasses.
