I don't mean to come off as a whiner. I just want my team to get some respect from the zebras. I understand that usually the aggressor gets the benefit of the doubt and that is purely on the Wings. I hope they open a can tonight. |

To late :r
Because you like this one so much :bdh:bdh Clownshoes is sad http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...stdickscry.jpg Compairing a penalty half way through the third to a guy who played 13:30 which tied the game to a penalty in sudden death overtime to the best defender on the club who played 30:00 minutes which ended the game. :r Don't worry I have a feeling the Wings will get the benefit of the doubt tonight and the Sharks will need to be very careful. If they get hosed on some calls and lose the game I can assure you I wont be crying about it and blaming the call for them losing the series if it were to happen. I will be stunned if the Wings don't fly out there tonight. Everything is on the line and I am sure they will be crying all night to make sure they get the calls. Bertuzzi can show them how to cry like a pro. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
B's came out smokin lots of heavy hits, two very quick goals the contest was never in question :noon
|
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Missed most of the Bruins/Flyers game, congrats B's!
And ouchie!!!! How bout them Bolts? I think this may have sealed the deal for the Caps to get a new coach next year. Good job Bolts! |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Setoguchi and Thornton really got the top line rolling tonight. Needed to show up sooner or later and they chose a great game to do it.
|
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
They dominated that game last night, and if they play like that on Friday, Philly doesn't stand a chance.
Friday night they should put the Nail in the coffin. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Another crazy game from the Sharks. I love it!

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
I was actually watching the Bs game more then the Sharks to see if there were any signs of life from Philly. That dog looks dead.
Congrats to the Bolts. They showed everyone their lightning bolt. The Caps need to do something that is for sure. The Wings needed to play their best game and they did without a doubt. Didn't watch the last part of the game it was family time. Of what I saw Detroit played a physical game and a great Detroit style game the rest of the way. It was a back and forth battle. When I saw the Setto penalty it reminded me of the Weber call, but that's the game. Glad the Sharks killed it and found a way to win. The whole same day, same score, same type of win is just freaky. For anyone who actually plays :r or has a friend or family who does total hockey is having a 20% sale today if you like them on Facebook you get a code for 20% most items. Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
It'll be interesting to see if we can finish off Philly and Detroit tonite. I would have never predicted those 2 going out in sweeps, and certainly not 3 sweeps in the 2nd round! It also looks like the Canucks are finally figuring out Rinne and Kesler is doing for Vancouver what he did for the US last year in the Olympics. Not sure that the Canucks will finish off Nashville tomorrow, the scorelines have been too close even if the games haven't, but it's certainly looking like a Vancouver v San Jose Conf final.

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
I dont think the Sharks are finishing anything tonight unless Howard craps his pants. He did look like a man on the edge after game 3 though. The Wings are going to be so desperate and fighting for every inch of ice. I expect them to play physical again. Sure they will keep yhe same lineup.
This Sharks team just doesnt panic and Mclellan just seems to have a solid game plan for the Wings. The guys are generally in the right spots to break up the Wings precision passing attack. The boys have been just good enough to eeek out the three wins. Its possible it ends tonight but I dont think anyone thinks it will including the Sharks which could be bad. I can guarantee the Sharks wont panic even if down by two. I am starting to think thats the big difference these days. They just dont panic and they are no longer scared of the Wings or any team. They just keep playing their game regardless of the scoreboard. I dont think tonight will be a blowout though like last year. Edit: watching the Canucks replay on nhl net. Kessler is a cold blooded killer. After that third goal he just skated looking up at the crowd with his arms up. Savoring the heart broken looks he was getting. Dude likes to murder souls. Cold blooded. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Puck just dropped on the Bs and Flyers. I'd love to see the Flyers get swept, but I'm being careful not to get my hopes up too high! :D

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Awesome game. Wings had the jump early 3-0. Sharks kept playing their game get the tie and then lose in the end. Great game by both teams. Wings showed a lot of skill and heart as did the Sharks.
Full marks to the Wings for not folding when the Sharks made the push. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Secretly had my hopes up for the Bs, and they didn't let me down! On to Tampa Bay! :wo

B's just got a little more dangerous, Lucic has found the net and the power play is working :D

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
I think the Bolts Bs will be a real interesting series. Bolts are fast with snipers, Bs are big and tough with grinders and good D. Thomas could be the xfactor if he can stop the Bolts snipers. Think the Bs may be able to pound the Bolts into submission if they play clean and stay out of the box. Would be interesting to see Chara blow up St. Louis.

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Damn, Patrice Bergeron is concussed, and will miss the start of the next series.
This is a major blow Bergeron could be considered the MVP, heck he has won close to 70% of his face offs. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Nashville makes it interesting. :)

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Was glad to see that. Worked all day today, but was following on my phone.
Sharks with a big test tomorrow. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Congrats to the Bruin fans...I'm sure that felt extra special after last year.

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Howard played out of his mind and the Wings passed the gut check test. Congrats.
A couple of Sharks should be ashamed to have been paid for to play that game. Could this be the return of the old Sharks who cant close the deal? I think they are the deeper better team, but the hesrt of a champion and pride can do a lot. Sharks nation is gripping hard. I am wondering how the Sharks bench will be mentally in game 6. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Gutsy performance by Pavel Datysuk who was obviously far below 100%.
Game 6 at The Joe is HUGE. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Yeah its hard to say when when a goalie lets in 3 he stole the game, but damn Howard played great and as you said Datys was huge also. Det is showing a lot of character. I just hope the Sharks dont fold or panic. Wouldnt be the first time, but it seemed those days were behind them.
What would kill me is rooting for them over the Canucks if they managed to complete the comeback. How bad wuld that be. :r |

Well atleast your back. I was getting extremely bored. Mike ran away after I kept poking him. That or he is superstitious and we wont see him post till after the series is decided. I was about to start poking Bruins Fan again. :r. As my wife always says geez I wonder why Micah can be such an instigator. I just cant cheer for the a few guys on the Canucks. My disdain for the Wings is more based on their obnoxious fans who live out here. I cant find flaw in their players except for clownshoes so in the end I would have to lean that way. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
I am looking forward to Game 6 tomorrow, of course I will not look at this thread after 7PM CST because I will watch the game when I get home on delay, and don't want any hints. I am wishing your boys lots of luck tomorrow, although a Game 7 is never dull. ;)
Same follows for tonight....Let's Go Preds!! :tu |

Bleh.
Great season Preds, you got farther than before! Now if the Sharks can get back on the gas pedal and finish off the wings, I will enjoy seeing the WCF's :) |

Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Fak!
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=5...d-rr-headlines Clowe who I said months ago was the true leader of the team didnt make the trip to detroit. This could be very difficult for the Sharks to overcome. Clowe is the emotional leader of the team and their playoff points leader. In a critical game 6 where the Sharks need to show their heart I cant think of much worse blow for the team. Looks like this may be going 7 and I wont have my hopes up if it does. I only hope Marleau and some others decide to play tonight and not be Dats doormat again. Sad today. The big line will have to earn their money and go after Dats and Franzen. Guess none of it matters I think the Nucks will beat whichever team advances |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Bad news about Clowe, Mike, but the Sharks have the guns if they all bring their A-game. I will not log-in tonight after 9PM PDT so as not to spoil the game on my TiVo delay.
I disagree about the Canucks, I think they are beatable. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
I really think the Hawks were the only team that could do them.
Nucks have size, speed, skill, and hit hard. If the Sharks get through they have a shot maybe as they can match up in some areas. Hell I dont know whats going to happen with Sharks and Wings now though. Some Sharks are showing no heart and the guy who emotionally leads the team will be gone. Just a bad storm for Sharks. Atleast I can enjoy watching Micah practicing up in age with a travel team tonight. Seem to enjoy that more then watching hockey now. |
Re: NHL '10 - '11 Thread
Preds couldn't beat the Canucks because they just don't have the scoring...The Wings and Sharks can put up some goals, especially if they get in Bobby Luo's head early.
Now is the time Joe, Joe, Devan, Patrick, Danny and others need to step up. Tonight will say a lot about the Sharks' character. Has Ben Eager been hurt or been a healthy scratch? This type of game seems to bring out the best in him. I know you are preparing yourself for potential disappointment, Mike, but I think you might be underestimating your boys. :2 |
