I think it's actually VA/latakia with a little rum casing, gotta check though, have a tin lying around somewhere at home.

McClelland's Beacon, just cracked a tin, and had my first bowl today. Quite enjoyable, I may have to pick up some more in the future.

oddly enough, i had a bowl of that for the first time this afternoon.
i did a trade with a newb on CS... i thought it would be like most navy flakes (no latakia, slight floral topping) and would rock...

nope, SG Navy Flake is a latakia blend with a slight rum topping. :su
but that's okay, it has it's place. lucky for me, the tin i acquired was about half gone.

does anyone know how it compares to the original PCCA Beacon? i know it's the same maker, but has anyone compared the two? did Mike change it any, what's the story?
or would i still be better off buying the bulk #2015?

not to hot on the Mcbarens Navy flake... Any suggestions? let it air out for abit?
Seems like there is an extreme Burly/ Harsh overtone that clouds the entire smoke
