A friend wants me to buy him a Rolex Submariner with green dial. Best watch prices by far out here, especially on Rolex. He does not care about box or papers. |

Michael, have you been on Watchuseek? Or download the Watch Recon app. And you can list alerts and it checks all the watch sales forums for a particular watch :tu

A PVD coated chrono with turning bezel? 45mm is pretty darn big and will date itself in a few years if you intend to keep it that long... |
Re: Wristwatch collectors out there?
Its actually a friend that is looking for it and insists its a Tag Heuer Special Ops. Says it is issued to Seals, PJ's, and Rangers. I have never heard of it but it was quite a while ago that I was a PJ. The watch I had back then was a Timex.

Re: Wristwatch collectors out there?
I'm a huge Patek fan. I'd never be able to actually OWN one, but their designs are striking.
If I were me, I'd need a smaller format to fit under the suit coat, though. And I'd go for older vintage Patek watches than anything else. They were more... "simple," which is kind of an oxymoron when talking about time-keepers. |

Not sure you buddy's budget, but I had planned on selling it once it comes back from them. He'll be hard pressed to find this watch in perfect certified condition anywhere... I want to get about $2600 which is quite fair. |

Rolex's, this one store had about 150+ on display from current models and on; all pre owned. That is just one store and not in a fancy area either. |

Re: Wristwatch collectors out there?
looking to pick up a budget watch in the $120-$150 price range. Something around 40mm because I have a small wrist. I have my eye on a PAM homage by Jackson Tse or a similar maker with a Seagull movement, a Seiko or an Orient.
I think I could find a style that would make me happy with either of my choices but what do you guys think would be the best choice as far as, accuracy (mechanical) and durability? This would be an everyday watch. I'm aware that I'd probably have to buy a decent replacement strap for the PAM so I've factored in the cost of that. Would sapphire glass be a must have upgrade? |

Actually bigger than the JSAR by about 2mm, but not as tall. Puts it about 48mm w/o the crown and 15mm tall, 24mm lugs. Sapphire crystal. 242 grams with bracelet. It is a chunk. |

I want to sell or trade in the X-33 on that Rolex or the new IWC Aquatimer. Both I thought were the two newest cool watches that weren't over sized or way too expensive like Blancpain I've seen recently. |

Re: Wristwatch collectors out there?
Anyone know much about problems with invicta metal watch bands? My big one I bought a while back is kinda hinky on one side. The six o clock side where it fits up to the case seems sloppy and there is a gap between the band and case, the other side isn't like that.

For this one? Trade value is about the same, bracelets and rubber strap included with mine and the Orient, pretty much same sizes, Orient is just a nicer watch, what would you do? |
Re: Wristwatch collectors out there?
I'd do the trade, but I'm trying to down size my watch quantity somewhat, so I might be projecting a bit. The orient is a nice looking watch, just a little bit nicer than the Seiko but pretty close in my book.
