Ya, it's a good "can have more than one" style Stout. Nice roasted coffee notes, decent body, but isn't a "4 pack and need a cab to get home" which I find with most craft beers.

Ipswich is a solid local brewer that does not chase the fads of the moment. Be curious to read your impressions as I know you like Guinness as do I.

Thanks. The beer sounds interesting, not a "normal" ale to be putting in bourbon barrels.

yeah, that's what grabbed me. not too many rates on it. I'll bring one bottle to our tasting group, and lay the other down. :tu

Agreed. Surly Abrasive is my favorite beer, and I've been drinking far too much of it this season. This beer is keeping me from purchasing more cigars!

Tony nailed it. I'm a big fan of the 21st Amendment beers that I've had, so I'm expecting more of the same with this one.

Me too! I should have bought two; one to enjoy and one to throw down in the cellar. I'll probably try this one soon, so if I really enjoy it I can track down a couple more.

I think they may have it at Four Firkins. That's where our friends got it for us, I believe.

I'm not Albert, but good not great beer IMO, where's the kumquats? Just reminded me of a light tripel, I was really hoping to taste the fruit. Very nice, dry and drinkable beer...but nothing to knock down old women and children to get at IMO.

Its like your inside my head, just a run of the mill triple. I did knock down one hipster while buying the beer but to be honest he wasn't really in my way.

I had the Chocolate Chili Bock and the Red IPA which are in the same series as Third Voyage. They were OK not my favorite SA beers.

We just recently got Boulevard Brewery beers here in MA so I went out and bought two 4-packs. One was Double Wide Double IPA and the other was their beligian quad can't remember the exact name. The DIPA was pretty good but the quad was delicious.

Drank the Third Voyage yesterday. Decent (drinkable) but nothing to write home about. Many other DIPAs out there that are far better.

Also drank the Victory Hop Wallop - outstanding!

Save a couple for 20 years and those will be amazing. I've got a few in the cellar along with some Rochefort 10's.. Both are better than Westvleteren 12 IMO, although I haven't had the Westy with more than a year on it. I've read tasting notes on 1980's vintages that sound killer..
