Yeah, it's one thing to get moved off the plate, and getting drilled every now and then is to be expected as part of the game. But the beanball, intended or not, should be a no-no no-go with an automatic suspension. Just :2.

Sorry, Michael - better luck next season.

I don't agree with suspending players for beanballs. It would make it unfair to the pitchers because you are now telling them that they can't pitch inside because if a pitch gets away from them they are going to be suspended. Accidents happen. A pitcher can not always control where the ball is going.

Matt Cain did not bean him on purpose, Cain is not THAT guy.

With that said, anyone who has ever pitched a baseball knows that once it leaves your hand, you may have a general idea where it's headed, but the smallest snap of the wrist at release or lack thereof can send it completely off course, let's not forget wind plays a big factor in all of the pitching.

I disagree with an automatic suspension, **** happens. If it's blatant that the pitcher beaned the player intentionally, that's another story. You don't suspend a player for an accident.

With the speed these MLBer's are throwing a 1/4" difference in release point on a 95MPH fastball is more than you can believe.

Quite the busy day yesterday. Number of teams came to terms with their draft picks, with the biggest being Strasburg deciding to sign on with the Washington Nationals (who by the way are 11-4 since the allstar break lol).

Yankees lost a stinger, beat by a guy we just released. Maybe if Tomko had outched like that with us he wouldn't have been cut :r

By no means was Matt Cain trying to hit David Wright, it just got away from him. I do not believe there should be an automatic suspension either, it's part of the game. But I do not believe in the "head hunting". The backside, legs, back just NOT the head. Hell with all the armor these players wear today, they don't fell it half the time anyways...LOL!!

Wright said that he is going to come back this season. The Mets would be smart to just tel him to stay home and get ready for spring training. No use rushing him back to play in a lost season.

But did you hear his interview? He said he was embarrassed to be on the DL and that he needs to be on the field with his teammates. David Wright is a GAMER!!!! He has been the bright spot of this otherwise dismal season for us. :tu

I like Pudge. I think he was one of the best all-around catchers in the last 20 years. But that was is was. I don't see him helping Texas much. Could be wrong - we'll see.

He was 3-4 last night...hmmmmmmmmm  I'd say he's helping out just fine.

Yep, 3-4 with 1 RBI -- in a loss that put them behind Baaston in the wild card. With friends like these . . . :ss

The Yankees won 5-2 tonight after a 3-R HR in the bottom of the 10th by Robinson Cano.

Scott Kazmir was traded to the Angels from the Rays. A very good pick up for the Angels. The Rays get left-hander Alex Torres and infielder Matt Sweeney.

Mets lose another one...it's becoming comical on how we drop games now. :(

I would say the Mets could call up the Triple-A team on the 1st but they are already on the team.
