I'm late to this party aren't I. Hopped on the bourbon bus last fall. I think I have 13 different bottles on my cabinet right now and have polished off 5 or so. I may have a problem

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Picked up Woodford Reserve Double Oaked on a friend's recommendation last weekend, looks like it's a fairly popular one around here too. Very nice blend, lots of flavours that are parallel to the rums I enjoy

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Has anybody heard of, or had Old Ripy? Comes in a 375ml bottle.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
I just finished reading all 83 pages of this thread. seems to have tapered off. maybe we can get it kickstarted again.
Whats everyone liking these days? When does the pappy collection & the BTAC get released this year? I would really like to try some of the options if I can get my hands on some. |

If you like Bowman Brothers then look for John T Bowman. Same distiller but a few bucks more. Much smoother. |

Evan Williams Single Barrel Colonel E.H.Taylor Small Batch Cant wait to try the EHT, this will be my first tasting of it. |
Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
I really am loving the Colonel E.H. Taylor small batch.
Also just picked up a bottle of Old Weller Antique. I never see this stuff so I had to grab it while available. |

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
My wife and I were in the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience this past Friday doing the Speakeasy Tour. It was a fun tasting and I picked up a couple of souvenirs:

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Found a bottle of Russell's Reserve that someone gift me last year. Cracked it open tonight. Know nothing about it, but it has a nicely sweet vanilla undercurrent to it. I really should keep better track of where these gifts come from so I can thank people appropriately ...

Ok so I have been on a bit of a binge lately.
1792 Full Proof Hotel Tango Single Barrel Bravo Bourbon Bumbu original rum and a cognac I cant quite remember what kind though. I think my liquor store has painted a target on me! Every Sunday I get an email titled "Sunday Funday 20% off" and it has some libation that I just cannot do without. |
Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Sampled Pappy 23 Year for the first time at a dinner last night. Good, but with my palette, I don’t think I could ever justify the price point. At least I can say I’ve tried it. :)

Black Coral John hooked me up with this at Christmas time. The nose on this bourbon is ridiculous, and it tastes purty fricking good too. |

Amazing lamb shank for dinner finished with Bookers 2018 bourbon and creme brûlée for dessert. Bourbon and creme brûlée was an amazing pairing.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Once this hellday is over it will be Blantons and a cigar to close the day out.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Glad to see some action here again. Me and a couple guys at work have been drinking Rabbit Hole. It runs around $50 a bottle here, but we all have enjoyed it.
Scored a bottle of Red and Green Weller that i am waiting to try. I got tired of searching up here so don't often find them. Anything out of buffalo trace seems to fly off the shelves. Eagle rare is about the best I have scored. |

As an ex-Chicago resident I miss Binny's in my life!
For this thread, I've always been a fan of the New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon, and as a Rye fan I got excited about the Rye variety. Sadly, not on the same level. It has a level of sweetened that almost seems fake, and some off flavors, like someone mixed a touch of beer into the bourbon. |

Being that it’s Super Bowl Sunday I got a little head start today. :)
Old Forester 1920, a very smooth high proof bourbon and so far, my favorite from OF’s Whiskey Row series. Quickly becoming one of my preferred sipping whiskeys. http://i.imgur.com/VVSVWGU.jpg |
Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Sounds like a winner, Damian. :al

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Tonight I went with some Willet Pot Still Reaerve.
One of my favorites but no matter how many times I rub the bottle...the 1965 version of Barbara Eden has yet to show up. A guy can dream though. http://i.imgur.com/aXwix0A.jpg |
Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
been sipping on eagle rare, buff trace, rittenhouse, four roses and coopers in rotation lately. all cheap but good for everyday after work drinks
