Re: Red's Fans Check in
I hate to talk about next year when we haven't been eliminated yet, but it looks dark for Cincy right now, so what do you think we'll be doing about third base next year? Rolen has been a very important part of getting us here, but it looks as if he's done all he's going to do for us. Any thoughts? Left field is up for grabs in my book too, even though I have been a Gomes fan this year too. First, second, rf, and cf are pretty much a lock for next year, but 3rd, lf, and maybe short should be under very tight scrutiny.

Re: Red's Fans Check in
I guess we'll hafta agree to disagree. I like Thom Brennaman, Chris Welsh, The Cowboy, and Marty. You need to remember that most of folks watching the Reds telecast are Reds fans, so they don't mind a pro-Reds announcing style. Thom's style is folksy, I like it. You guys are too young to remember guys like Dizzy Dean and Phil Rizzuto who kept talking about buying pizza after the game at a place that was a competitor for a sponsor of Yankees baseball and even Waite Hoyt for the Reds, who regailed audiences with stories of his days with the Yankees of the late 1920s.
The Reds had a good season, hopefully they'll go farther in 2011! |

Re: Red's Fans Check in
Reds got a nice call on the infield single by Stubbs and we still couldn't capitalize. :bh
Cueto sure is allowing a lot of contact. He better not let this get away from him. :tu |

Dusty has a great feeling about today's game. Let's hope his intuition is right...

Man, they looked terrible all series. Its too bad they had to play a team with a winning record in the playoffs, if they played the Pirates they might have had a shot. :hm

Re: Red's Fans Check in
Well... Thanks to the Reds for a fun season. There is always next year :)

Re: Red's Fans Check in
Good pitching always beats good hitting. Hopefully we can keep Votto and others and build on this year's success.

Reds are a young, and talented team....just ran into a better club this series...Remember the Phils got swept by Colorado in 2007....3 staight NLCS after that, 2 WS appearances, and 1 WS win!....Reds will be back....Good luck next year....and GO PHILLIES!!

Re: Red's Fans Check in
Yes- I'm talking long haul. I'd be sad to see him in a Yankees uni in a few years!

Package received, Admiral. Some fine looking sticks in that package. Thanks, brother!:tu I'd be interested in making the same bet again next year, but I need to see what happens in the hotstove season and ST before I commit. If you're interested again let me know. I'll smoke one soon in memory of Sparky. |
