Stay on them man, if you haven't had it yet I HIGHLY recommend it. So damn good.

Stopped and bought 3 more cleaning the store out this season :)

Pumking is ok, but I still think DFH's punkin ale is light years better. Harpoon's new pumpkin ale wasnt half bad either.

I just tried the DFH Punkin and i prefer the Southern Tier. The DFH is good but it was far to subtle in the pumpkin spice flavor that i was looking for. :2

Well I have a 4 Pack of DFH Punkin chillin in the fridge also, I will try that tonight.

Had Saranac Pumpkin and it sucked, Blue Moon was ok but tasted like a light beer. Still have HS Greater Pumpkin to try also & SA Harvest Pumpkin.

If you're a pumpkin fan, try Weyerbachers Imperial Pumpkin Ale. It's around 9% and is spectacular.

OMG yes! Weyerbacher is glorious.

Speaking of which...y'all want to make some recommendations as to pumpkin beer for someone who isn't a fan of a hoppy taste. I see the Souther Tier above. Have no expertise in this one, or anything really. ;)

Thanks

In my experience most pumpkin beers tend not to be very hoppy. Im a big fan of the Southern Tier Pumpking if you can find it. Dog Fish Head also makes a good one.

I had both last night...delcious. Elysian brough 8 or so of their pumpkin beers and The Great Pumpkin was the best of the night IMO. FYI LOTS of spice

Well the "problem" is that there are nearly 3 other cases there that I had to hold myself back from, mixed 08s & 09s. I took all 08's.

It was a good beer, dry finish which makes it pretty drinkable. This is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your perspective, if you want a big heavy stout this is not your beer - but if you want something that is more 'drinkable' this is a great beer. It's not 'thin' by any means, but it does not have the 'body' of a big Russian Imperial Stout. Hope that helps with someone's decision making. :tu

The Weyerbacher was a 4pk & the Bell's was a 6--needed a good quantity of yeast to harvest :tu besides, it's a great beer.

I like my pumpkin beers to favor the pumpkin spice flavors, especially nutmeg and vanilla. Pumking is hands down my favorite, Shipyard is shockingly similar, at a much lower price. Buffalo Bills and (not pictured) Post Road are next in line. The Weyerbacher and Schlafly are both a little more toned down on the spice, followed by the Tommyknocker. From past experience I've found Dogfishead and Smuttynose to favor pumpkin over spice, so they usually don't come home with me.

I love October.

Just picked up 3 six packs yesterday Left Hand Milk Stout, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, and Smuttynose Pumpkin. Had to restock after quite a few of my Sam Adams Harvest collection broke when I opened the bottle.

Sixth Glass is my second favorite behind Tank 7. I'm not good at describing flavors, I just know what I like. It's funny because, I haven't tried a SS series that I don't like. My wife says it's because they're $10-$12 a bottle. :r
My least favorite was the Brett-Saison, still good, as they all are, but there was something about it that I didn't care for as much.
