Wood is a good sign, but Martin seems silly when we have such depth in our minor league system, and Harriston is just going to be off the bench. Not exactly impact moves lol.

Martin was signed this morning as the starting catcher for the Yankees.

Its most likely that the Phillies will deal out Blanton somewhere in the near future. They're over budget and the 8 million or so a year that moving Blanton frees up would ease the Phil's finances a bit. Also I think the deal was 5 years $120 million. Regardless of the amount, he took considerably less money to come back to Philadelphia which will make him one of the most beloved sports figures in Philadelphia history.(barring bad performance, of course)

The original report last night was $100M. This morning they said $120M. It is smart for Lee to go back to the NL. It makes him an even better pitcher facing thinner lineups. Philly has a a great team right now.

Nope, so far the only signing today is just a declining catcher coming off a broken hip injury. I'm so excited to have Martin

Well, the Yanks might have missed out on Lee but they did address their gaping hole in the starting rotation by signing Mark Prior. Remember him :r

I actually like this signing. It is a minor league deal with a spring training invite. The Yankees have no downside in this pick up.

Cleveland Indians great and Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller died Wednesday night of acute leukemia. "Rapid Robert" won 266 games in 18 seasons.

Looks like Zack Greinke is on his way to the Brewers, now leaving Royals fans absolutely nothing to be excited about for the upcoming 2011 season :r
