Got back to Canada in time to see the oilers play the Hawks last night .

Hawks looked tired ... how long have they been on the road ??? Not the real Chicago Blackhawks last night methinks .

I'm a beaten down fan. I've always been fairly optimistic for the Avs, but this season has been a disaster. To a man, they are pretty much underachieving.

I do like Bednar, but it appears to be back to the drawing board.

Not sure really how much I put this on Varley. He needs help, meaning needs the boys to find the back of the net. Not to mention the constant mental mistakes that give up the odd man rush or fantastic opportunities.

Both Pickard and Varlamov are doing what they can, but when you're last in the league in goals scored, you're not going to win a lot of games.

Back at it tonight vs Arizona.

I have no idea if the paper this morning had a misprint or in my early morning stupor, I had no idea what I was reading...but the Avs aren't playing tonight and are not playing Arizona tomorrow.

Came home, ask the Little One, hey, can you throw the Avs game on... She responds, "the Avs don't play tonight." I'm like yea, like 5 or 6(remember reading/thinking, it's on early, you can catch it in progress when you get home.

After a few, "Yea, check altitude channel" she schooled her dad.

Bout right for the season....:sl

I needed a big fantasy night from Bernier, was hoping for a 97 save shutout, and it would have been nice if he had 12 assists and a couple of hat tricks too ... instead he gave up 8 goals :lr

I can't believe how many blow outs there have been so far this season, I don't remember a season this bad for goalies, seems every weak there are a couple 6-0 / 7-0 and even games with 8 goals given up.

Well that was a surprise. I only watched about 2/3rds of the 2nd. Had a skate before & then over to the neighbors for a drink later. But I had him look for me & looks like an OT win. I'll take any they can get!!

The Jets sure have the Hawks number so far this season. 10 losses, and 3 of them are to Winnipeg.

The Jets have been Chicago's nemesis for a few years now. Not sure what that's about.... on paper your boys should walk over them.

Did you see the one off the bar from Lowry? I think he's taking lessons from Liane - it was a rocket. Just an inch too high....

Besides Anisimov's goal, only highlight for me was Crow stuffing Byfuglein on the breakaway.

Watched about half that USA vs Canada World Jrs game today, good stuff. Went to a private skate with some friends & my son. Came home and though the AVS gave up a goal early when I turned it on to put them down 2-1, have tied it up! 20M to decide it. GO AVS!!!
