That Mizzou pick didn't work out too well did it?

Mizzou played a piss poor game. Our Off. Coordinator apparently has four plays and can't adjust, and as much as I like our QB as a person (the dude is a complete boyscout), it's time to put in the second string guy who can actually run the offense and make some passes. This season is already a loss so we might as well give the QB of the future the starting time.

Connor Shaw looked great tonight. Maybe he is gaining some confidence. Mizzou was a lot more flat than I thought they'd be. They had their chances though.

I sure as hell hope these two asshats from KY get their suspensions like DJ Swearingen did.

I think only one of those guys gets suspended. Either way, I think the Swearingen hit was a bit worse. Part of me hates the wussification of football, but I definitely understand the need to keep players from getting hit in the head.

I agree, but it needs to be consistent.

I do not like the new helmet rule though. I think it is going to lead to a lot of headlocks and neck twisting in the pile ups.

That was actually the complaint Mizzou had after the Georgia game. Apparently, Franklin's helmet kept getting yanked off when he was at the bottom of piles so he'd have to come out. In hindsight we probably would have been better off if it had happened even more. :r

I think we'll se some neck injuries from it. I like what they are trying to do in protecting players, but not if the rule leads to other injuries.

Agreed. Seems to be a case of good intentions leading to other consequences.

Gators took care of business again, looked good. Gotta find a way to not start so slow though.

And btw, with the recent AP poll the SEC is the first conference in history to have 4 teams in the top 6 spots :banger :tu

Oh yeah!!!!

I also enjoyed watching Clempsuhn melt down. It was just a couple games later last year that his happened. Taj Boyd is a chockapotamus. He's a badass when he is on, but when he is off, he suuuuuuuucks. Kinda reminds me of SCs Stephen Garcia in the first half of last year. Also, whats up with their D-Line? Seems like they had one foot off the bus in the first half and went back to campus for the 2nd half.

Arkansas has been pretty bad, but they just fired their coach and I think the interim coach had his brother die. It's to be expected.

Auburn lost 3 games before October for the first time in school history. It is a bad year to be an Auburn fan. I wholly approve.

That's what happens when you hire a really old coach.

LSU takes care of their business and tumbles in the polls. No style points this time
I guess. I hear it's a circus, but I have yet to see a game with the sound on.
Last year nearly the entire season was televised somewhere. This year, ehhhhh.
Guess we should have scored at least a point in the BCSNCG.

From what I hear, Zach Mettenburger is almost as good as Jarrett Lee, lol.

What I was worried about happening to MIZZOU going to the SEC has happened. I was trying to stay positive and hopeful but my dreams have been shattered. Still going to support my team and attend the home games. When they have it together they are awesome but when the suck they are awesome at that too.

It'll take some adjusting to the SEC. When USC and Arkansas joined at the last expansion in '90 they weren't so hot either

Yeah, I was pulling for them hard, too. Just like I used to do for bama til I hated them.
It's a long tough road of recruiting and SEC-ialization. You need to compete with the
LSUs and bamas of the world for players of great skill. I think by 2016 you guys should be swingin.

LSU vs. Towson, turn it on now, Towson is about to score a TD on LSU in Death Valley. I'm going to laugh. Just saying.

EDIT: I actually wrote this before the 43 yard scramble. LOL LS-WHO?

2nd Edit: The only thing worse than losing to Towson is Mettenburger's (sp?) mustache.

Well...SC looks like a bag of mashed up assholes in the first half. They better get it straight or their bummies are going to get gaped open by GA next week. Double U Tee F.

Not one of the games available to me. Looks like from half-time score, the Tigers have managed to pull themselves back together.

I see in the first conference match-up between Arkansas and Texas A & M in many years, A&M brought their ass-whuppin sticks with them!

Non-SEC, Okie State is giving Texas all they can handle.

Mettenburger just sacked himself. No wonder Towson has been in this game for so long. Maybe his mustache threw him off balance.

That was a sad sad game... They need Patrino back to :sl during the half. Can't believe we were a top 10 team, now barely in the rankings...

I have to agree with your basic line of thought here. I think the players don't have their head in the game because if the coaching change turmoil. And, while the current coach's financial Problems are not team, coaching or school related, the have to be taking a toll on his concentration level. Talent is there. It just needs someone to focus it. Bama went thru the same thing for almost 2 decades. Hopefully it won't that y'all as long.

I'm guessing that. Or, South Carolina is really, really good! They sure handled them Dawgs!

SEC kinda upside down. Maybe the teams we should watch are Mississippi State, Florida and South Carolina! If Bama plays Mississippi State like they played Ole Miss, Miss State will wipe us up. Going to be an interesting season.

Should be a SEC East Title on the line for that game unless something stupid happens to either of us next week.

Not saying we are going to beat LSU for sure, but if we play them like we played UGA, its going to get ugly.

Yep. Some of my delusional Gamecocks fan friends are already jibber jabbing about a national championship. I suppose in all of their excitement, they forgot the absolutely brutal schedule that USC has for the next few weeks. I am pretty sure they can take down LSU on the road, but the Gators** on the road will be a challenge. I am reserving all National Championship talk until after October 20.

If they continue playing like they did last night, I think a NC game could be in the cards for this year. BUT....I am a 34 year fan and am well versed in how inconsistent they can be.

** I am still not convinced of the UF hype. Like USC, they have played no-one, really. USC beat a grossly overrated GA and UF beat a LSU team that is on a rapid spiral downward. That is it. IMHO, LSU doesn't even belong in the top 10 any longer.

With the schedule we have, a NC is possible, but if you dont take it one game at a time you wont ever get there.

Im actually thinking of going to go to FL if we get past LSU, but i also believe the UT game isnt going to be as easy as everyone is thinking.

That being said, if we get past LSU and UF, we are going to def be in the NC mix.

Physically punishing offensive line and a strong downhill runner who dominates the second half. A defense that is relentless. A great coaching staff who makes crucial, game winning adjustments at halftime.

Although that has routinely been Bama and LSU the past couple years - its the Gators this one!

Plus FSU and Georgia went down so my football weekend was outstanding :D

And day-um if USC don't look awesome. That'll be another great SEC matchup :tu
