I know the kids had slipped into a far second place, from the emails Lisa's boss sent, it sounded like they were almost 2800 votes back. I do believe we closed that gap and then some.
If Lisa's office team worked half as hard at this as you guys did, and the leaders rested on their laurels thinking they had this sewn up, I'll just bet we sneaked in and stole this thing. :D

Welp, we came in second place in the contest. There's no score totals, so we can't see how close we were.
The good thing is that there's a second place drawing. The more points you have, the more chances you have to win. So we can still win the second chance draw.
Dammit.

I got some more info on the contest scores...
It turns out the winners had right around 400,000 votes and we scored in the high 300 thousands. There were right around a million votes cast for the contest.
From Weeze's old emails, it appears Portville was leading, then about a week ago they were overtaken, then they caught up, then they just waited a couple days too long to mount a strong enough comeback.
Weeze's boss was real pleased with the effort, but I'm sure he's as bummed as I am. That's tough to put up almost 400,000 votes and lose.
Regardless, everyone involved busted their ass to get it done. Portville won second place by a HUGE margin, so they should have a good chance in the second chance drawing. :tu
