I think Otis is good as dead, but they writers do like to set you up for an obvoius moment and not make it happen. Remember the first episode of the first season (I think it was) when the guy was going down the pitch black stair case lighting matches every few feet? I was like this is sooo predictable, a zimbie is gonna jump out. Then when it didn't happen I was like ooohhh I like this show. |

Only two episodes in and I am getting pissed. Last season was soooo much better.

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
I'm absolutely loving this season. They really picked up on the character development (which is probably why most people say it's so slow). But this development is very important for events to come. In my eyes this story really just getting started. This season will bring big things. To me people tend to focus less on the characters and more on the "action". If that is how you watch this show, then you will be somewhat disappointed.
It was important to use a whole show with Carl, you have to understand the writers are trying to bring you into the characters shoes. I biggest point to me is that these people are not just surviving the zombies. As it sits now, even a broken bone can end up in death. It all is very dark and heart wrenching. I love this dynamic of how "people" react with all these things going on. From start to finish I'm tense and on edge. I love thinking about what it would be like for me to experience this and the decisions I would make. Would I stay with the pack? Would I go off on my own. Even forming a group presents its own problems like Sophia being missing. Right now you see a group living in the moment. I cannot wait till that transitions into long-term survival. |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
I enjoyed this last episode, man that last scene with Shane & Otis....INTENSE!!!
I was hoping the boy would die (just so Rick can move on and be full of rage). You guys b!tching about these last 2 episodes need to remember this is a story about people dealing with a bad situation that has occurred it's not really all about zombies....at least that's how Kirkman has put it regarding the comic and the show. There is all kinds of drama in the comics and sometimes very little zombies. But it is what it is and I am glad they renewed for a 3rd season! |

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Just finished it, I had to record because I was at Emilys. Damn!! Great ending. Didn't see it coming what so ever. I agree with getting to know the characters better, but I like action as well, so I haven't liked the last episodes, but have still watched and enjoyed. If that makes any sense. Do you guys think they'll find the little girl?

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Personally I've been loving the new season. :2

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
I agree. I loved season 1 and season 2 is great.

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Shane did the right thing imo. Now he's going thru his "Taxi Driver" epiphany lol

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
I know season 1 is on Netflix, but I don't get AMC so season 2 is out of my reach right now.

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
I have a feeling that season 2 is getting ready to take off.
Yes it did start a little slow but I'm thinking that they want to Kay down a good cover story before the action starts. There seem to be alot of storys within the story's. I love this show!!!!! |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
They really need to kill the wife off, which they wont do of course because of the dynamic she creates.
But she really is not believable as a character to me, way too emotional and unstable, she wouldn't last a day in a real crisis situation like that:) |

Also from the tv show she had a better take on the Carl situation than Frank did. |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
No cable last night due to the storm ... gotta keep from checking this thread today to avoid any spoilers :) (You can see I'm already off to a roaring start)

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Solid episode! Gotta like the twist at the end.

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
One of the best things to hit the airwaves in awhile, imho. So sick of the unReality TV shows, or the CSI:omfg's!
Really looking forward to Andrea turning into a lean, mean, zombie killin' machine. Its gonna happen, and I can't wait! Now they just need to find a reason to stick her in a swimsuit for me. :) |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Another well done episode last night. I especially loved the scene with Daryl, Andrea and the hanging zombie. Daryl was not happy about the way the zombie "went out". Pretty amazed he was going to leave the zombie there. The other scene I really enjoyed was when Rick and Lori were discussing what to do with Carl. We now really see the dynamic of how these terrrible times force people to think they would be better off dead. I mean she tells her husband that they should just let their son die! And great job from the writers, perfectly bringing back the deer scene to help convince Carl's mother that he wants/needs and should have every opportunity to survive injury.
Well done again, cannot wait till next week. |

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
I need to watch Season 1 and then I am going to start with 2. I have no cable, so I have to catch these any
way I can. I guess like with my horribly late start with Deadwood, I am going to be a pathetic latecomer, but I am ready to watch this tonight. |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
My wife asked me a question and I didn't know the answer:
"Do you think Shane left Otis for dead to give him more time to escape?" or "Did Shane leave Otis as revenge for shooting Carl?" I think if he had left him to escape he would have shot him once and been gone. Because he began to beat Otis I believe it was meant to be revenge. What do you guys think??? |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
I couldn't believe the ending. When Shane was looking at the "bald" spot on his head, I thought he was bitten or a bullet grazed him.
|
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Also, I didn't buy any of the writing around the mother saying that perhaps it was best if Carl died. It's her only son! Just not a realistic thing for a mother to say.

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Off topic a bit, but how does a show have a 6 episode season?? What schedule do they air it on?
Every MONTH, Every Two WEEKS?? I know this is how many Eastbound and Down had, but I didn't see that on HBO either, so I have no idea how long you wait for a new episode. |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
its was just a pilot show, wanted to see if they would get viewers, if so they would get the money for a full season.
|
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
im pretty sure it just aired once a week like normal

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
This is how I saw it.
Shane shot Otis to buy time to get away. Otis grabbed Shane almost immediately after being shot as Shane started wrestling for Otis' bag. Otis knew what was going on and tried to keep Shane there. Otis' gun goes off, and Shane grabs it and it and beats Otis with it. Otis has a fistful of Shane's hair and finally lets go, so Shane can get away. It was pure survival, no revenge was involved at all. Shane even apologizes before he shoots Otis. If you look close, it even appears a few times that Otis is actually gaining ground on Shane, because Shane's gimp leg is slowing him down. Watch again for yourselves: Demise of Otis |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
agreed, not revenge. but somewhere in that moment, i bet Shane was thinking bonus points from Lori, since they had their love triangle thing going on.
near the end Lori gets emotional and tells Shane to stay (he had mentioned leaving the group)... |

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
13 episodes this time around, and a 3rd season secured after they broke records for this seasons premiere.
Being that this is based on the character Rick for the most part... I know this is a pipe dream, but... I always thought it would be awesome to have a very dynamic cast. Every few episodes, out with the old... in with the new. Maybe some survive longer than others, but in the end... they all die. That'd be my series anyways. |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Lori's neck is soooooo long!
|
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
This show and Boardwalk Empire are the best shows on TV.
I was a little disappointed w/the first couple episodes of this season but the last one was terrific. According to the sneak peak for next week it appears that Rick will pick back up the deputy uniform and kick some undead @ss :tu |
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
They also finally introduced a hot girl into the cast.
The farmers daughter seems pretty hot to me so far! Also what the hell was that fat little monster looking thing in the previews for next month. I was like what the .... |
