I can feel your pain from here Ryan. :tu The silver lining is that he will only spend a few days on the DL.

As of today, the Mets are still in first place, whereas the Yankees have yet to win a game.

Reyes place don the DL because he's not in shape. Needs some more at bats and to get those legs in gear. I thought that was what the off-season was for?

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Mac.....CBS Sportsline prediction:
NL East 1. Phillies: Moving from the AL East to the NL for Doc Halladay would be like you or me moving from a job at the assembly line to lying on the beaches of Margaritaville all day. Halladay and Cole Hamels should spend much of this summer turning out the lights on opponents. And Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard will be lighting those opponents back up. Placido Polanco might be the most underrated offensive acquisition of the year. 2. Braves: If Jason Heyward isn't the next Dave Parker, my name's not Danny Knobler. Or whatever. Meantime, please bring a rocking chair to the ballpark with you to present to retiring Braves manager Bobby Cox. 3. Marlins: Ricky Nolasco had such a good spring he became a trendy pick for NL Cy Young. Anybody for Hanley Ramirez for NL MVP this summer? And if Cameron plays more like Maybin than Diaz in center field, the Marlins will be there through September. 4. Mets: Dr. David Altchek, Mets medical director. Dr. Struan Coleman, team physician. Dr. Andrew Pearle, associate team physician. And Dr. Seth Miller, orthopedist. Because if you're gonna watch the Mets, you had better know the names of their doctors. 5. Nationals: What date you got in the "When will Stephen Strasburg be promoted to the majors" pool? I'm going with Saturday, May 29, in San Diego. |

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Mac, this should sum it up for you....Obama throwing out the first pitch for the Nats/Phillies game, Pedro Martinez for the Sox last nite...and throwing out the first pitch for the Mets...Mike "The Situation" from MTV's "Jersey Shore"...:r:r:r

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Good luck to the Mets today.

It gave me a big old smile this morning when I saw the Yanks choked and let the Sox paddle them. I'm gonna watch the replay today. I bet it was an awesome game. :tu |
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
How 'bout them Yankees blowing the lead last night and losing to the Sox. :tu

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
I picked the Mets/Marlins game. Mets are doing well. Johan is kicking ass. :tu
I'm watching the game on my ipad. It freakin rocks. :D |
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Santana just pitched himself out of a big 4th inning jam. Man, he's fun to watch. :tu
|
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
David Wright goes yard in his first at bat of the season, Johan throws 6 solid innings, and the Mets win!! :tu Great opening day at Citifield!! :D

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Watched the game today, man they looked good. Almost like they lost the dark cloud. Best part is that I didn't see their name mentioned in anyone's pick. I prefer to root for a underdog

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Nice win for the Mets today.

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Mets dropped one last night to the Marlins...so much for that undefeated season. :r :r On a side note, I LOVED how they fought back from being down 5-1. Last years team would have thrown in the towel. Marlins bullpen had a little to do with that. Got to grab the series tonight. Maine looked like crap!!!

Tight game tonight for the Mets. Ex Yankee Tyler Clippard pitched some great relief :tu

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
I could not believe how that game ended. Bases loaded two outs down by one and the left fielder makes a diving catch to end the game. Tough loss for the Mets.
