A great game last night, with the exception of all the penalties, especially the bone head personal fouls on the Raiders. Wish Jaws was calling that one. Bet a few F bombs would have been dropped instead of the S Bomb.

Nice to see the D return ready for the Jets. Way to step up!
Is McFadden the BOMB or what. Man I love watching that guy. I would still like to see Campbell get more accurate especialy on Long Bombs down field. The second string receivers have played well though, making some great catches in double coverage. Also now that Boss is back and healthy, it would be nice to see that big boy go across the middle for some nice 10 yard pick ups.
As long as they keep their head in the game this year I think Hue Jackson is on the right track.

Go Raiders!!!

Don't want to get my hopes up again ... but that was a heck of win against a good team. Nice to see.

Another Raider win!

Going to be interesting now with Kyle Boller (sp?) at the helm ... Pryor will be looming in the wings but only has a week of practice in with the team.

Of course we always have Lechler to throw TDs also ;)

Re: Raiders Fans - Check in

Pryor will have two weeks to warm up at least in the case of emergencies. That's including the Bye week after KC.

Cross your fingers on this roller coaster boys

Re: Raiders Fans - Check in

Hope we can get something going in the Passing Game. Campbell has been scary at best. We are pretty decently stacked otherwise. Good defense (way to shut down the run against Cleveland) and in the QB's face all day.
Good running game with a strong O-Line. Good special teams. Al would be proud!
Get us a good QB going and will be hard to beat.

Could be a nice deal coming in for the Raiders. Getting Carson Palmer would be a very nice upgrade. :tu

For two first round picks???? He had better be able to come in and throw golden poo....

When I heard Carson was going to the Raiders I immediately knew your boys were going to the playoffs, the division is a cinch. If he fits, there's no reason they couldn't get to the Super Bowl (provided the Steelers die in a plane crash or something).
This is a big deal for Carson and the Raiders both. You guys are real fortunate, you scored BIG. :tu

Scott, you know this is 2011 and not 2005, right? If Carson Palmer was a horse he'd be glue right now.

Granted if Palmer throws to the right team and fits in quickly we will be looking very good ... if not, we are back in the Shipper for a while ...

I honestly thought they would have played Boller against the Chiefs and if that didn't go well throw Pryor in and let him have at it for the rest of the season.

The way the division shakes down, the Raiders have a good shot at winning it and making the playoffs. Throwing that away to get a look at Pryor wouldn't be the way I would want the team to go. As much as everyone could be down on the Palmer deal, it will be interesting to see if he is successful. I think he will be. Also, the quandry they are going to be put in with Palmer, Pryor, Boller and Campbell will be interesting to see who is the odd man out. :hm

BetOnline.com says Carson Palmer to the Raiders has no impact on the team's Super Bowl odds. They're still 40-1.

I think you all ready have them in the right order, assuming Palmer doesn't pull a Jamarcus Russell and show up topping the scales at over 300 lbs :su

He's 32. Granted, he got a lot of zip knocked off his ball from laying on his back for years. Despite playing ball in what was arguably the most asshole-ridden franchise in the NFL for the best part of his tenure, he stuck it out knowing it was a go-nowhere proposition in a club that cares nothing of success, driven by management that wouldn't know a winning move if it bit them on the ass.
The Raiders have the line and wideouts to let his ability shine, if there's something left. Iirc, Oakland's offensive coordinator was in Cinnci around 06, so Carson should be able to slide in with little adjustment.
Plus he's still far better than Kyle Boller even if they need to push him around in a wheelbarrow.

The last couple of seasons in Nati, Carson Palmer got skittish. Not David Carr skittish, but he got some happy feet back there. I'd be more worried about that than his elbow and shoulder issues. Put those two together and he's a busted quarterback IMO.

X2

As I mentioned before, Campbel was decent at best but still looked better than Boller.
Even w/ the short amount of time to learn the playbook, I think Palmer (being a veteran) will adapt better / faster than either of the other two.
Running game, Special teams, defense, offensive line all looking good. The addition of a good quarterback will only help.

The only thing going for Palmer in Oakland is that he has an O Line now.

Bad word choice on my part. I meant one of the major things what Carson has now is the Oakland O line.

Most fans are just bitter and hoping he fails. Its too bad Mike Brown has to ruin careers and fans still take his side over the players when it comes to public perception. :td

An offensive line, offensive coordinator who doesn't run the most predictable offense in the NFL, head coach who has the respect of his team, receivers who run the correct routes and won't be forced to throw to, a running game, front office that will spend money, diehard (not fair-weather) fans, and the chance to win a division title with a team and not by himself. Just to name a few. :tu

As with everything only time will tell if this was a good move or not ... It is definitely making news and putting some more buzz back into the team ... hopefully it doesn't just become a distraction for the game this week.

We have the pregame warmup today at work as we work in our Home Safety Meeting on outdoor cooking/tailgating at the office here in KC this afternoon.

And imagine this, receivers who will actually finish a route!!!
Carson is going to think he's in heaven, for sure. It's hard for me to think of the Raiders organization as heaven because much like the rest of the world, I hate them. :r
I'm just a big fan of Carson and feel bad that his talent was wsted on such a suck organization all these years.

Just Wednesday Rotowire was reporting that Palmer would be playing Sunday. Today I got a text that says he's not playing. I'd wouldn't be real surprised if that doesn't change again come Sunday.
They're playing KC, for crying out loud. They shouldn't need much of a quarterback to get that job done. :tu

I'd really like to see that game if Carson plays. Between him and Jackie Battle breaking out for KC, it could be a classic short-field, running game, grind-it-out, kinda contest. That'd be a cool change of pace.

I see Palmer left off where he did in Cincy. 3 picks :r

I lol'ed at him pretty hard this weekend, but I would still like to see him after he has a full week to learn the playbook and work on his timing.

Ya, Bummer

Wasnt expecting much from Boller, he has not showed much since he has been w/ the Raiders.
What can you expect from Palmer w/ 3-4 days of practice and only 10% of the reps on those days.
Top 1-2 running back in the league out in the first quarter.
Tight End Boss out w/ concussion.
Jannokowski out w./ hammi (not that we got close enough to kick one, lol).
Still no Marcell Reese, fullback.

What a letdown.

Thank God for the Bi-week. Study hard Carson!!!!

I understand your bitterness and hatred for Mike Brown..I get that..maybe not from an NFL players perspective..but I get it. Now Palmers failure had nothing to do with Mike Brown. Brown threw truck loads of money at the guy and Palmer just could not deliver (after the injury)...he throws the ball perfectly into the opposings teams hands (3 interceptions with the Raiders first game)..otherwise the ball is either overthrown, over the recievers head, or in the dirt. I am glad he is gone (no I don't want him to fail) as it is fun to watch Dalton with the Bengals.

I wonder if TO is next? ;)
I'm looking forward to seeing how the Raiders do this week. They had a lot of work to get done this past two weeks to get ready. It's a bummer the new rules don't let them practice much. What are they allowed, one day in pads a week and two practices?
I think it's just two practices during a bye week?
Someone tell me what the new rules are, will you please?

I don't think that there are any rules against the players working together on their own though :sh just saying if they want to win and look like the belong they need to be putting in extra effort right now. :2

Carson was working out with his recievers during the Bye Week in an effort to become more familiar with them. Also, I am sure he spent plenty of time in he film room and playbook to learn the system :tu

New practice rules are a max of one padded practice a week and none after a certain week (10?) . Teams also must give players 4 consecutive days off during the bye week, including a full weekend. :tu

Weak performance by the Defence. We had a chance to take 1st in the division and blew it. At least the other top 2 in the division blew it too.
Lot of work to do there Hue.
