3 minutes in the toaster to make them nice and hot.
3 seconds on my plate for the filling to cool and age before I shovel them into my face.

You don't freeze them first to minimize infestations?
For me:
3 days in the freezer, followed by 3 days in the fridge, followed by 3 days in the pantry. All highly recommended by Furgenson.

Thats pretty risky. Its a well know fact in the Pop tart community that if freezing isn't done right it could result in the crust splitting open while eating. Especially when you get into the last 3rd of the Pop tart. I prefer to play it safe and store them in a cool dry place under the temp that infestations may occur. :2

Strawberry - unfrosted. We only buy Pop Tarts when we are going camping. Ever since my kids were little it's always been a "treat" for camping. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, they could have them anytime they wanted when we were camping.

I have frankly never experienced that as I maintain the fridge at precisely 37.2547 degrees, which I have read is ideal for the interim process from freezer to pantry.

Actually, my favorite Pop Tart is Brittney Spears.

He'll be here all week, try the Veal and don't forget to tip your waitress, left or right, not backwards please.

I don't think I saw this all time party favorite listed in the poll.

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...to/null-28.jpg

Or this other favorite.

And who can forget this classic second only to Kitty Litter.

So I am a little confused as I hear different things on different pop tart boards.

Do you guys age your pop tarts in the wrapper or with the wrapper off?

Does it make a difference if they are Kellogg pop tarts or if they come from another country?

I personally like to age mine with the wrapper off Markem, that way they develop a nice crust "cake" and you get the subtle flavors of grain in the pastry...

BTW, your Arlo Guthrie link is to one of my Dad's favorite songs...

Well, we have to consider Bloom of Ploom or Mold.

While initially reluctant, have to totally agree as no doubt keeping the wrapper on will result in mold and lack of proper aging.

On another note, can't believe how few votes for Kitty Litter. Quite disappointing.

Do you prefer a "straight" or a "V" cut? Palio or Xikar?

Thanks to the expert and authoritative information in Turd's ultimate book, my pop-tarts plumed! This is DEFINITELY not mold!
