I was in a bar, not Irish, but with a good selection of the discussed ingredients.
A "lady" across the bar ordered a black & tan with Guinness and Magner's Cider. Never saw anything like that before.
My Black and Tans are always Guinness and Harp. I think that's because the "Irish" bars I used to inhabit on Cape Cod, while they had many Irish selections, only the Guinness and Harp were always fresh.

I gave the Boddingtons and Guinness a try over the weekend . Real good but it did not stay separate for more then a few minutes . I'm guessing because both beers are kind of thick or of the same viscosity , if that makes any sense at all . I do still like it better with Bass , SmithWicks or Harp . i also tyied a Dirty Hoe this weekend . 3/4 glass of Hoegaarden and 1/4 glass Lambic raspberry . A little on the sweet side and would definitely be better in the spring and summer .

Gotta go with Harp and Guinness....will be having many at my St. Patty's day bash....
