Only thing I'd want to do is shoot one first---small guns in large calibers ain't always pleasant.

The 40 is due out later this year. My shield is a 40 and saves me from buying multiple caliber types. I've also heard tales about there being such a shortage of 9mm and 45 ammo while the 40 seems to be easy to find.

While I can find defensive ammo all day long, bulk range ammo is tough to come across unless I buy the reloads at the range but I have had mixed results with it.

The last time I bought the ranges reloads I was firing 2 weapons one in 9mm and one in 40. The 40 had 4 failure to feeds in 100 rounds and the 9mm had one stovepipe, 2 failure to fires and one failure to feed in 50 rounds.

I seem to have feed issues whenever I use their range ammo but never have an issue with factory loads.

Where would you recommend shopping for 30 round mags?

Also looking for a BCG...

http://www.slickguns.com Check it often, most deals posted sell out quickly. Mags are starting to get easy to find and prices seem to be back down to ~$15, give or take a few bucks. Basic BCGs are becoming more available, but if you want one of the fancier ones it may still take awhile.

I've seen the opposite. I haven't seen FMJ 40 in awhile, 9mm and 45 seem to pop up more often.

Anyone have any experience/knowledge about the Thompson/Center line?

I have seen their interchangable, single shot stuff before, but I was watching a turkey hunting show the other night and got to thinking about picking one of these up.

Of course, I know this goes against all prevailing wisdom these days (single shot that is) :noon

TIA

if you're a good shot, one round should be enough.....have shot several different calibers, the 30-06 is very capable of taking down a northern deer and shredding one in FL

Thanks Alex. I was actually watching a turkey show and they were using the 12 ga. And I agree, other than sporting clays at the range, I seldom use more than a single shot. If I miss, the target is usually LONG gone!!!

This is the one I was looking at

I think it just looks sexy as heck.

Right now my "hunting" shotgun is an old Mossberg 1000 auto in 12 ga. But with this I could change out the barrel to a 20 for Boo.

:O. Everywhere around me is limit to 100, or big box of high quantity if they have it.

What does everyone think a good price for an m&p sport would be right now?
