Three Game 7's in the next 2 days...I love playoff hockey!
Rooting for the Capitals, Sens and Panthers. Don't expect any of the three of them to win, though. :lr |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Thanks Tom after I rooted for the Hawks all season.:r:r

The kid is going to get lit up like a christmas tree.
Yes he made a lot of saves 40 foot shots, bad angles no one in front of the net to pick up rebounds The B's were flat and generated no offense and didn't bring the physical or skating game. Very disappointed with the effort and the power play. Congratulations to the Caps and their fans they wanted it more. :tu |

Solid start at the Garden today. Kreider is going to be a player.

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Looking forward to tonights game.
The team that did everyone a favor in knocking out the Canucks vs the team in the west that seems to be emerging as the favorite. |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Go, Favor Team! :D

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Heroes of the Day...The Dustins.
Penner for an awesome patient assist on L.A's first goal, and a bank shot capper to end the night. Brown for being a short-handed threat every penalty kill, and getting the short-handed assist on the game winner. :wnr |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Flyers started out very sluggish yesterday, but were able to overcome it (again). Bryz was one of the few Flyers that showed up to play in the first period, and kept them in the game.
Giroux and Briere had big games again, and JVR really played well after limited action in the first series and missing much of the season. If he can approach his level of play of last year's playoffs he'll be another big offensive threat for the Flyers. And great news that Meszaros is close to coming back. For much of the year, he was the Flyers best defenseman, IMHO. |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Saw the last 2 periods. Flyers carried the play. They are just better then Jersey. Cant see them loosing the series.
I am suprised the Yotes are having no issues with Preds. Will be interesting if its Kings v Yotes for West. The powers that be have to be loving the Yotes cup run. Los like they will make the conference finals. I love the salary cap era as a Wings hater. As I kept saying on here two years ago going to be a while till they see a cup again. Then again atleast they have seen it. Sharks chances dont look good any time soon either. Poke poke. This thread is dead because almost no one has a horse now. |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
I still love playoff hockey, Mike, so I will be here until the bitter end. ;)
|
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
I know you will brother and so will I.
I love the game regardless if I have a team in the hunt or not. The not is very common. Lets go Caps, lets go Blues |

Not really caring who comes out of the East now. I can see virtually any of those 4 making it to the finals though.
My money is on the Preds or Blues taking the cup now, although I would not be surprised with any outcome. What a crazy playoffs so far! |

Plus, I will hopefully get to see the Kings knock off #1 and #2 in the West, followed up with #1 in the East. ;) :lr |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
My Hero of the Day:
Dustin Brown again! 3 assists including his 4th short-handed point of the playoffs, and 14 penalty minutes. The Kings are lookin' good! |

Thinking about it, I probably like more guys on the Blueshirts (Callahan, Del Zotto, Girardi), but they also have lots of guys who bug me (Zsa Zsa Gaborik, Snidely Boyle, etc). I guess it's just my nature to root for the underdog when I don't have a dog in the fight....but I will be happy to see the Rangers win the East, and then we can see a real Cinderella story, maybe, with East #1 Vs. West #8. ;) |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Damn Kings jumped all over the Blues last nignt. Just dont see the blues winning 4 of the the next 5 games against this Kings team. Given how they are dismantling the Blues it seems they will do the same to the Yotes if they face them.
Im pulling for Caps. My son likes Ovi and I like Holtby. How can you not like Holtby? While the call that resulted in the PP goal was questionable, you cant put a whole 60 minutes game outcome on one.penalty call. It ignores the other 58 minutes. |

Cool it, Men, were all hockey fans and we don't always agree, but let's keep it civil. :)
Nice win for the Devils, never know what's going to happen this playoff season. Hell, the Rangers could even take 2 iin DC. ;) |

;) j/k :r (Sorry, BWD...couldn't resist. :)) The refs did miss a call there (Clarkson broke Coburn's stick in half with a slash), but their play cost them the game, for sure. After the first period the Flyers played like they were three goals up, not one. Giroux and Hartnell were more "unnoticable" last night than any other game in the playoffs. Give the Devils some credit there, but they...along with many others, just seemed flat. Bryz really did seem to play well, even in the third when he gave up three. I'm not too concerned....yet. I think the Flyers will rebound and at least split in Newark. Hopefully, take both. |
