In many many cases. Public parks, public transportation, buses (the only way to get around), most public buildings, banks, etc.

I really like the Lionsteel SR-1 especially the beautifully scalloped Ti frame lock side and steel lock bar insert. But alas, they are a little out of my price range and do not have the option for left-handed carry.

If I spend over 200 for a knife I would probably go custom. Although I could see myself dropping a few more dollars on a ZT0551 or 561 although I may not have to once the Cryo comes out. :tu

True but again, no left-handed carry option. It sucks being left handed and a folding knife lover. I have 2 knives that aren't left-handed carry and I don't carry either one anymore even though I love both of them.

Pffft, I wish I had an excuse as well as a Job to justify carrying a fixxy.

I carry a small fixed as a utility knife, a supplement to my folder. Beauty and the Beast if you will. The fixed has a thicker one piece blade that usually gets used for tasks such as pry bar, pineapple cutter, etc.... anything the folder can't do well (cleanup) or physically cant do.
